Job Description

The Section Manager, Network Planning (Scheduling) will drive the design, development and implementation of Scoot’s commercial flight schedules. The objective will be to maximize financial return and aircraft utilization by optimizing flight timings and fleet deployment to align with consumer demand and aircraft performance.

  • Lead and support a team of analysts to plan, develop and implement commercially attractive seasonal flight schedules that are aligned with the company’s strategy, forward plans and operational requirements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to regularly review route performance as it relates to flight timings and the overall schedule product. Make adjustments to the schedules as required to continually improve on the financial return, taking into account the different traffic segments (point to point, connecting) on each route.
  • Work with the relevant Operations and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on the forward schedule plans. Oversee timely distribution of schedules to internal and external stakeholders and publication of schedules on internal reservation system and GDS platforms.
  • Manage the airline’s portfolio of slots. Actively work on continued slot optimization with relevant slot coordination authorities to match evolving schedule requirements. Guide the team through slot negotiations, including during the twice annual IATA slots conferences.
  • Develop and maintain the budget operating plan. Regularly update this as a living document from one season to the next. Keep abreast of fleet plans and align with Network Planning and senior management on forward plans.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the schedules and various databases and settings within the scheduling systems. Drive expertise of the scheduling systems within the team. Keep abreast of system developments and enhancements, strive for continued improvement in system usage to further optimize schedule planning functions.
  • Drive continued improvement in team processes by reviewing opportunities to increase efficiency and leverage system features. Focus on the development of the department and foster a growth mindset within the team.
  • Contribute to Commercial projects and ad-hoc tasks as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, Business Administration, Science & Engineering)
  • Work experience in airline scheduling and experience in using an airline
  • Scheduling system.
