Job Description



Position Summary:

 

Directs a team of internal consultants to support business analysis decision making at IndiGo.  Performs financial analysis of various strategic, operational, commercial and finance initiatives across the enterprise.  Examples of such strategic initiatives include capital investment, labor productivity analysis, aircraft reconfiguration and resource planning and optimization. Responsible for conducting special studies relating to cost trends and resource utilization and performing market and competitive benchmarking analyses. Cultivates a productive working relationship between Financial Analysis and internal client verticals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Serves as part of a finance-driven business partnership team working with operating and commercial divisions (e.g. Network Planning, Airport Operations, Flight Operations, Inflight Services, Engineering) as internal clients. Delivers advisory assistance and financial analysis to help internal clients meet or outperform their objectives and KPIs.
  2. Leads cross-functional teams for the purpose of completing financial analysis projects. Directs and manages projects from beginning to end.
  3. Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  4. Assists internal clients in developing business cases to evaluate and justify strategic investments in their respective business areas. Uses fact- and data-based analysis to assist these clients in developing their divisional investment strategies. Performs special studies and analysis for the CEO, CFO and the VP of Corporate Planning and Analysis. Performs ad hoc financial analysis on various initiatives and projects as directed by the executive management team.
  5. Develops and maintains reporting vehicles to track financial impacts of investments and initiatives. Works with operating division clients to help develop inputs and assumptions, as well as outline and explain insights from this reporting.
  6. Develops statistical and predictive models for rigorous, data-driven analysis. Develops flexible models to evaluate the financial impact of various business initiatives under a range of assumptions and scenarios.
  7. Works within the financial and strategic objectives of IndiGo.
  8. Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises project team members (managers/assistant managers/management trainees) and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. Develops strong leadership qualities within the Financial Analysis team and team members.
  9. Serves as a positive change agent to improve business results, KPI performance and efficiencies across the enterprise.

 

 

 

Required skills and competencies

 

  • MBA or graduate degree in Finance or Strategic Management preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of internal corporate or management consulting work experience, demonstrating increasing responsibility and effective leadership.
  • Experience required in developing and using Excel-based models, conducting quantitative and statistical analysis, implementation process design, negotiations, hypotheses development, option identification, problem solving, consensus building.
  • Proven track record of effective project management. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. High degree of results orientation.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues effectively and efficiently to senior management. Demonstrates persuasive written and verbal communication skills and be effective in a variety of presentation settings. Ability to influence decision makers across a range of situations.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and act without having the total picture, as well as be able to effectively pose questions to gather information required for decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams across various functions of a company, and leadership skills in a team environment where teams don’t have a reporting relationship to the individual
  • Airline industry knowledge a plus. IndiGo passion required.
