Job Description

To oversee and deliver maximum value to the airline’s operations through strategic sourcing and category management principles of procurement for jet fuel and ground handling services across the airline’s flight network.


Key Activities

  • Leads, oversees and manages all the activities related to airport operations related procurement and contracts for Jet Fuel, Ground Handling services (passenger/ramp, cargo handling, lounges, baggage services) and related Airport Services (landing, navigation, passenger taxes etc.)
  • Develops, in liaison with the Airport Services Department multi-year strategic procurement plans for Jet Fuel and Ground Handling services at key, high spend stations that provide the company a competitive advantage and meet the organization’s financial objectives.
  • Provides key input into the overall Procurement Strategy leveraging existing vendor relationships.
  • Leads key negotiations, implements procurement and contracting processes to achieve cost reduction goals to deliver consistent bottom line savings to the airline.
  • Develops and utilizes improved metrics and data driven decision making capabilities through a digital transformation software solution.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives within the department by analysing inefficiencies in the existing procurement procedures and implementing changes where needed.
  • Manages a procurement team and oversee their supply chain, contract and supplier management activities.
  • Manages supply and supplier related risks and exposures arising from the existing and future procurement and contracting activities and ensure appropriate mitigation in all cases.
  • Identifies cost optimization opportunities through annual spend analytics and establishment of economies of scale as well as combination of service vendors when feasible.
  • Ensures compliance to all procurement policies and procedures to support business continuity and disruption management.
  • Advises the operations team on the commercial and contractual remedies for service delays or unsatisfactory vendor performance against contracted SLAs.
  • Evaluates, and approves all types of Purchase Orders, Contracts, RFPs etc. within the assigned area of focus.
  • Researches and provides effective pricing and management information in support of new route business cases to accurately identify route costs.
  • Assists the Airport Services Department in developing appropriate SLAs for each vendor delivering goods and services in the assigned area of focus.

Minimum Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) Master`s Degree in finance or business administration is preferred 


  • Preferred No. of Years (with Bachelors Degree) - 10 years 
  • Preferred No. of Years (without Bachelors Degree) - 15 years 

Knowledge / Skills 

  • Preferably CIPS Qualified or similar Procurement and Supply Chain Management Diploma or Certification
