Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the engineering team and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver projects to enable the successful execution of business goals and objectives.
  • Build a strategic Engineering structure and develop the engineering talent to optimize their career growth.
  • Provide guidance to the engineers to develop and improve various processes like EDM, Laser, Plasma and Vacuum Science etc. 
  • Develop strategic new product introduction and introduction of new technologies to support company business growth.
  • Lead and drive development and deployment of repair standard work and new products to achieve Repair Source Approval, First Article Inspection and First Piece Inspection Ticket.
  • Identify and grow new product opportunities and capabilities, evaluate business cases, and develop a product industrialization plan.
  • Oversee a robust project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Evaluate existing and new machine capabilities to meet new product development requirements.
  • Identify and establish outsource vendor capabilities to support new product development plans.
  • Establish annual Engineering and development budget and ensure it is contained within the budget.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and process improvement to meet business metrics.
  • Support all quality investigations on escape, warranties to ensure prompt corrective action.
  • Support improvement projects for process turnbacks and Costs of Poor Quality.
  • Participate in the EH&S programs and take personal responsibility to ensure safety adherence.
  • Ensure compliance of Quality standards, drive CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence), EH&S and Ethics culture in the cells as well as assume roles in CORE and EH&S sub-committees.
  • Maintain good networking with various industrial suppliers and keep abreast of various new technologies. 
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in an MRO environment with leadership capability to lead and grow the engineering team.
  • Degree in Materials engineering or any other relevant Engineering fields. A Postgraduate or PhD in materials engineering is a plus.
  • Understanding of product development cycle, materials and processing of parts, development costing, engineering procedure with respect to DER, production cycle and production techniques.
  • Understanding of global market requirements for products, research organisation workings and funding, customer expectations of repair, suppliers contact, and engine costs impact, OEM and FAA DER organisation and workings.
  • Knowledge of various metal processes and their interactions and understanding of superalloy evolution and materials for aerospace.
  • Evidence of success in Engineering project management.
  • Good analytical skills to identify the root cause and resolve various process issues. 
  • Strategic mindset and capability in building the engineering structure.
  • A creative and dynamic problem solver.
  • Leadership with the ability to grasp new ideas and solve problems.
  • Understanding lean six sigma concepts and being knowledgeable of Aviation regulations is a plus.
