Job Description

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To ensure the seamless development and publication of flydubai’s schedules. Tasked to effectively manage the scheduling systems and lead the schedule change process with other stakeholders to ensure information is passed in a timely and accurate manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the ongoing production and publication of the Operating Plan and Schedule Change Notices.
  • Fulfils the role as superuser of the Schedule and Slot Manager software and Corporate Schedules Repository, providing expertise and guidance to other team members when using these systems.
  • Acts as the liaison between Commercial, IT, Reservations, Operations, GDS and codeshare partners, to resolve any issues faced with publishing and distributing schedule changes.
  • Adjusts the schedules in view of various operational constraints, such as rostering, NOTAMS, or changes to the fleet delivery plan, to improve aircraft utilisation, connectivity and product offering, balancing demand against the appropriate level of capacity.
  • Safeguards and manages slots, by tracking usage and ensuring that changes to the operating plan do not result in the loss of historic rights to slots and that new slots are secured to protect the future growth of the airline.
  • Develops and evaluates competing scenarios, ensuring that changes are supported and endorsed by other stakeholders, particularly the Commercial department and addressing any concerns about new timings, considering passenger preferences, aircraft deployment, connectivity and competitor schedules.
  • Acts as a focal point for Network Control and Engineering Planning to ensure that the planned aircraft rotation fits with the tail assigned engineering plans.    
  • Assists in obtaining and tracking schedule approvals (landing permits, airport slots, governmental approvals, etc.) 
  • Identifies risks to the planned operation in case of insufficient crew resources to cover flights and negotiates with Crewing as necessary to protect high value flights, despite possible resource constraints.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Preferred Minimum Level of Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)

Education / Experience Specific Requirements

  • Airline Management, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Sciences Degrees preferred
  • Preferred No. Years (with Bachelors Degree) - 5

Systems, Licensing, Language or Certification Requirements

  • Expert user of an airline scheduling system, e.g. Sabre Airvision, NetLine, AIMS
