Job Description

To provide comprehensive support to Flight Training Facilities Management and Engineering personnel in order to maintain the quality of the devices and training provided. Role holder will be assigned to support either the Cabin Service training equipment or the Safety and Emergency Procedures training equipment. Will support the safe operation of the training equipment by crews, and support engineers in preparation of the devices for training. To provide assistance in maintaining basic fixtures and fittings. Job requires substantial practical knowledge and training gained within an engineering environment. Will work within existing procedures providing help and assistance to Flight Training Facilities Engineering team as required

 Job Outline:

• Maintain Cabin Service Trainers or Cabin Emergency Evacuation Simulators and associated training devices to ensure continuity of training. Control the rapid turnaround of these devices to facilitate training roster for both Emirates and 3rd party crews, must react effectively to short notice rostering changes.
• Controlling the re-stowing of aircraft slides on the training devices and reinstalling deployed passenger oxygen masks. Will involve the recharging of simulated fire extinguishers, oxygen bottles. Will need to work quickly and thoroughly under pressure to maintain training schedule requirements.
• Support the training crew during evacuation and real fire training exercises to ensure safe operation.
• Effect minor repairs to aircraft seats and cabin fixtures and fittings on all the Flight Training Facilities devices, and arrange for re-upholstery of damaged or worn items. Floor carpet rubber matting, refurbishment will also be required on the Full Flight Simulators as well as repair of aircraft and instructor seating, fixtures and fittings.
• Records will need to be raised and updated in Simulator Operational Control database to track device utilisation, device defects and the materials used and the action taken to repair or refurbish equipment.
• To implement Cabin Service Trainer cleaning and slot turnaround requirements, crew coverall laundry, and device defects not covered by Ops. Training Facilities engineering personnel
• To remove defective galley equipment from cabin service trainers, ensure defective equipment is suitably labelled and pass onto Admin section.
• To liaise with Cabin Crew Training to communicate rostering impacts and changes.
• To monitor safe operation of the devices during training sessions and react effectively in the event of an emergency. Must have knowledge of First Aid and be a strong swimmer. Must be aware of how to contact emergency services when required.

Qualifications & Experience

Education;

10 Years schooling or equivalent

Experience;

 Flight Operations.Other : 1+ Year

Knowlwdge/ Skills;

• Facilities/Maintenance experience
• Computer literate in Microsoft, Word, Excel
• Good practical electrical, electronics or mechanical skills
• Basic communication skills
• Good safety awareness
• Physically fit, First Aid training preferred.
