Job overview and responsibilities

The Senior Specialist  will leverage technical expertise with SQL, SAS and other CRM platforms to drive growth and success for United and its partners using sophisticated audience targeting and segmentation techniques. Must have technical aptitude, a willingness to collaborate and resolute attention to detail. This role will is an integral part of the marketing effort, working cross-functionally to design, test,  and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns supporting multiple business units throughout United Airlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Direct contributor toward the build of targeted audience lists supporting multi-channel marketing campaigns spanning in complexity from batch to highly sophisticated automated jobs
  • Responsibilities include managing an assortment of weekly data list requests and ensuring on-time delivery, assessing data requirements and determining the correct data sets and variables, list development, QC, manual and automated file transfers, and following best practices and optimal data design methods
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Airline, Loyalty, Partner and Premier divisions to achieve marketing goals and optimize audience targeting, personalization, segmentation and automation
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal clients
  • Communicate openly and proactively on project status, recommendations, challenges and opportunites to improve processes
  • Be a team player. Learn and share knowledge among the campaign operations team
  • Be willing and able to train and assist other team members when necessary

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive database marketing experience
  • 3+ years of experience writing queries in SQL, SAS and CRM platforms (IBM Unica)
  • Experience using Ab Initio
  • Experience performing campaign analysis and reporting
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to business users and to receive business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • An excellent and inquisitive troubleshooter
  • A team player that works well independently and colloboratively
  • Willingness to work on new challenges, but remain focused on regular duties
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Experience building or utilizing web services and API's
  • Experience using Hadoop or BigQuery
  • Statistical modeling experience
  • Experience as acting manager or team lead role
