Job Description

OVERVIEW

Senior Aviation Group Standardization & Evaluation Instructor Pilot reporting to the Aviation Group Commander on all matters concerning Aviation operations. Develops training, training publications for the aircraft type. Provides analysis and guidance on all aircraft and aviation equipment requisitions, integration, and training of new equipment within the command. Provides the command with guidance to manage the Aircrew Training Program and development of personnel managers of subordinate Aviation Battalions. Responsible for standardization, evaluations, and inspections of subordinate units within the command. Interact with customer Standardization; maintain a two-way flow of information.

Will also be responsible to:

• Review and/or develop and implement academic and flight training programs that meet the needs of the units while supporting the Group commander’s Aircrew Training Program.
• Oversee the production of lesson plans, training aids, study guides and aviation doctrine distributed by Command.
• Be able to evaluate aircraft qualifications, refresher training, NVG qualification and mission training in the Groups aircraft.
• Oversee and inspect all subordinate units Individual Aircrew Training records.
• Ensure that all crewmembers meet all ATP requirements during their annual period.
• Be able to conduct ground and flight evaluations as required by regulations and Aircrew Training Manuals.
• Evaluate classroom and informal instruction periods that support aircrew training program.
• Oversee and assist as necessary in the development and updating of unit regulations, SOPs, Aircrew Training Manuals, and tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Ensure that safety is included into all training aspects.
• Be able to conduct written, Oral and flight evaluations of subordinate IP’s/SPs to ensure the goals of the units ATP have been met.
• Providing guidance to establish, maintain and increase Aircrew Proficiency.
• Evaluate the methods used to train the Aircrew and improve it.
• Ensuring that all the Group aircraft types are being operated to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, technical maintenance practices. Assist in all logistical procurement issues related to flight operations.
