Job Description

Responsible for EK Maintenance and Engineering strategy implementation, Section leadership and organisation, Manpower management, and accountability for activities undertaken in Heavy Base Maintenance, Aircraft Appearance, Component Overhaul Workshops Engine Maintenance Centre. Ensures that all maintenance activities conducted on Emirates and Third Party aircraft/components, Engine overhaul/testing and Aircraft appearance is carried out to the Quality and Standards laid down by the Regulatory Authorities and Emirates Airline. Responsible for implementation of 'best practice' whilst introducing key change management programmes necessary through process improvements in current work methodology and practices, and continually seeking enhancing in-house capability that will reduce overall maintenance costs and inventory whilst maintaining optimal Quality, Reliability, safety and Airworthiness.

Accountabilities:

• To lead and develop sections performance in the support of maintenance related activities undertaken ensuring management teams drive the highest standards through redesign, development and implementation of procedures and processes that will ensure all maintenance activities performed within Base Maintenance, Overhaul Workshops, Aircraft Appearance and Engine Maintenance Centre areas are performed at the highest standards in terms of quality and safety at an acceptable cost in order to exceed the minimum regulatory, company, manufacturers and suppliers standards and requirements.
• Establish, implement, control and deliver unit costs and budgets ensuring through visible checks and balances reporting that sufficient resources are available to perform and meet all activities required within areas of responsibility. Ensure manpower budget and Capital investment essential in performing business are in line, available and delivered with business expansion plans and growth strategies as defined by the company.
• Continually Review, Plan and Implement a staff development strategy for sections that ensures management and staff teams can and will meet current and future fleet expansion, agreed business plans and deliver corporate strategic goals. Benchmark current practices against the world's best thereby ensuring competitive advantage in these areas is maintained and improved to meet future challenges.
• Through active participation with divisional and cross divisional peers/colleagues conduct strategic reviews that will critically analyse aircraft technical reliability and performance to ensure sections are delivering company required standards and meeting internal and external customers satisfaction and needs.
• Actively drive improvements through managing change management and implementation of new Technology and working practices whilst setting challenging KPI's that will clearly demonstrate that sections are delivering the optimum in terms of overall maintenance, costs and performance for areas of responsibility.
• Provide key reports and visibility that will identify efficient utilisation of hangars, workshops, equipment, tooling and facilities are being appropriate, operated and maintained at their optimum with staff performing at the highest standards in terms of Performance whilst ensuring that Health & Safety and Housekeeping is maintained protecting staff and the Emirates Global Brand and Image as a quality employer.
• Actively oversee and participate in contracts Emirates provide and those from third party agencies contracted for aircraft and component overhaul, maintenance activities, aircraft appearance, Engine Overhaul and Testing. Ensure that all activities provided from and to Emirates are delivered at the highest standards in terms of Service, Delivery, Safety, Cost effectiveness and Turn Round Time in order that we maintain our targets in areas of maintenance delivery and achievement.
• Continuously develop through in house maintenance capability, services expansion and potential JV's that will improve our position in the MRO business so that Revenue and Assets are and will be optimised in return for the investments made.
• Promote and manage staff training and development ensuring that areas of responsibilities maintain, apply and deliver a safety culture actively lives in all sections and employees.
• Establish, set and ensure through visibly shared reports that standards are being delivered, maintained and exceeded with respect to Discipline, Attendance Management, Performance, Appearance and Behaviour ensuring the company’s image and reputation is at the highest possible levels.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant Degree or Honours holder (12+3 or equivalent)
• Maintenance Control 15+years

Knowledge & Skills

• Engineering and/or Holder of recognised Aviation Qualifications
• With experience in Engineering Aircraft Maintenance of which 10 will have been at a management level
• Experienced in Project and Contract Management
• Proven track record of leading change management
• Experience of managing in a diverse multicultural environment
• Experience as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer having qualifications acceptable to the UAE / DGCA in the area of maintenance of operational aircraft, having held such license qualification for a minimum of ten years.
