Job Description

Provide operational leadership to Emirates SkyCargo Hubs World-wide (including Dubai) to facilitate the projected volume growth and ensure the safe regulatory compliant and cost effective delivery of service and product quality excellence.

 Job Outline:

  • Provide executive leadership to enable delivery of the operational vision and strategic objectives. Build, sustain and improve the core–competencies required to establish and enhance the Division’s operational capability network-wide in support of the commercial goals.
  • Formulate and manage Dubai Hub budget requirements (revenue and expenditure) ensuring these are adhered to and managed within the parameters of current business practices and any projects undertaken. Ensure there is no negative financial performance incurred by the EK Group, whilst ensuring adequate resources, both manpower and equipment, are available to effectively deliver the requirements of the current business and new projects.
  • Direct and guide the various network and GHA Operational Heads to enable them to successfully plan, implement and improve their respective operational objectives. Monitor and ensure the successful negotiation of GHA Contracts including the associated Service Level Agreements which enable seamless service delivery throughout the Emirates world-wide network to achieve the Divisional business objectives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and make recommendations on new handling ventures/opportunities taking into account budget requirements, resources and contractual agreements. Ensure compatibility with the strategic business objectives and that at all times Sky Cargo have the capability to successfully meet growth, profitability and service quality targets.
  • Oversee the timely and cost effective connection plan between the two Dubai Hubs ensuring service quality and timeliness are maintained.
  • Interact and influence customers, worldwide business partners and service providers to develop, establish and improve long term business relations
  • Facilitate effective business planning among the operational units of the Hub and Network ensuring balanced sharing of common resources. Based on Emirates growth forecast review and plan future infrastructure requirements for air cargo at the Dubai hub including all special cargo handling capability.
  • Evaluate and resolve all operation related service complaints, claims and other operational service related issues, working closely with other Emirates Group corporate departments e.g. Customer Affairs & Service Audit, Outstations, Ground Handling Agents, ensuring that customer needs are met and appropriate service recovery action is taken whenever necessary.
  • Develop and manage the working relationship within the highest levels of the Department of Civil Aviation. Influence and negotiate to ensure the needs of Emirates Sky Cargo are met at all times with the latest technology and necessary infrastructure to enable the cost effective delivery of the highest level of customer service. Develop, negotiate and maintain good working relationships with Emirates Corporate Departments and other organisations at Dubai Airport and at airports system-wide.
  • Identify, implement and control the highest standards of regulatory compliance, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP), safety and security procedures for Dubai and network-wide in close co-operation with Emirates Group Safety and Security Departments and ensuring full compliance with all applicable national and federal legislation.

 (GDP Specific) :

  • Monitor and analyze quality targets (KPIs for performance of pharmaceutical product handling, GDP regulation specific).
  • Approve, implement and maintain a quality assurance system to implement all relevant requirements of GDP for carriers, including management of deviations, CAPA, changes, documents/records, self-audits, equipment and IT systems.
  • Establish a supplier management system and approve GDP relevant suppliers.
  • Have a mandatory training module on GDP in place for staff(Role specific training covering GDP regulations). Also ensure establishment of efficient auditing program.
  • Manage to stay updated with emerging business dynamics of cargo product handling, including GDP regulations, and its impact on EK. Also provided necessary guidance to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post graduate degree level from an internationally recognized university, with emphasis on business, marketing and sales with a minimum of 15+ years experience in the airline or service industry of which at a minimum of 5 years as a 'functional head' developing and implementing strategies.
