Job Description

As a Rotor Staff Engineer, you will be part of GE90 Engine High Pressure Turbine (HPT) rotor design and analysis team. In this role, you will build and utilize multiple skillsets including analysis, design, product definition, and manufacturing for rotor components. You will be doing activities linked to technical improvement of existing components and products, resolution of issues corresponding to the component manufacturing and delivery. In addition, work with suppliers and cross functional groups including design engineering, manufacturing, and quality engineering to address component related issues and perform root cause analysis and corrective actions as required. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute Rotating Parts Hardware Ownership through Design, analysis of assigned components for non-conformance resolution, improve reliability and Durability
  • Evaluate Hardware queries of owned HPT Rotor components to meet the engine delivery needs and MRO shop targets.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise & system level thinking to meet design CTQs for HPT Rotors components.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Collaborate with Product Service Engineer (PSE) for developing field plan for HPT Rotor parts and repair engineer for generating opportunities to reduce the part scrap
  • Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity Technical leaders, Cross functions teams viz. Shop, SC, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes for module
  • Embrace & lead team on LEAN adoption
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks complying with engineering and agency policies and procedures
  • Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally
  • Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • MTech / MS/ BTech in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum 8 – 12 years of relevant experience on mechanical Analysis/ design/hardware ownership of aircraft engine/Gas turbine rotating components
  • Exposure to rotor design and Manufacturing processes will be added advantage

  • Familiarity with High Pressure Turbine module
