Job Description

Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute Rotating Parts Hardware Ownership through Design, analysis of assigned componentsfor non-conformance resolution,improve reliability and Durability
  • Devise strategy of owned HPT Rotor components to meet the engine delivery needs and MRO shop targets.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise & system level thinking to meet design CTQs for HPT Rotors components.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Collaborate with Product Service Engineer (PSE) for developing field plan for HPT Rotor parts and repair engineer for generating opportunities to reduce the part scrap
  • Should network and establish strong connections with Commodity Technical leaders, Cross functions teams viz. Shop, SC, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes for module
  • Embrace and lead team on LEAN adoption
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks complying with engineering and agency policies and procedures
  • Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally
  • Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions

Required Qualifications

  • MTech / MS/ BTech in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience on mechanical Analysis/ design/hardware ownership of aircraft engine/Gas turbine rotating components
  • Exposure to rotor design and Manufacturing processes will be added advantage

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with High Pressure Turbine module
  • Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs (such as Ansys Classic) for rotating parts
