Job Description


  • Senior Advisor to the customer. Reporting to the Battalion Senior Standardization Officer on all matters concerning group operations. Develops training and associated training publications for the aircraft type. Provides the command with guidance to manage the Aviation Training Program.

    Will also be responsible to:
    Primary duties as the Standardization Officer for the Battalion providing guidance to establish and maintain daily flight operations within the Battalion aviation unit.
    • Responsible for conducting aircraft qualification and tactical training.
    • Secondary duties serving as an advisor observing daily activities within the Battalion providing advice and guidance to the customer on all matters relative to flight activities and operations. Provides recommendations to the customer enabling him to better fulfil his duties and responsibilities to the command.
    • Assists the Group Flight Operations with the mission activities associated with the aircraft type. Must ensure that all aircraft procedures, flight operations practices, standards, and records comply with all Customer, GCAA, and ICAO regulations.
    • Performs flight duties as a Standardization Instructor or Pilot-In-Command on aircraft type. Serves as an aircraft commander in accomplishing scheduled and unscheduled flights as required.
    • Obtains briefing information on purpose of flight test, weather, operation procedures, intelligence, and special instructions. Prepare flight plans considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, aircraft, crew capabilities, threats, operational and training requirements and flight procedures.
    • Ensuring that all the Group aircraft types are being operated to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, technical manuals, airworthiness directives, and good maintenance practices. Assists in all logistical procurement issues related to flight operations.
    • Ensures the aircraft is pre-flight inspected, loaded, equipped, and manned for mission. Inspect engines, fuselage, and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness. Inspect and test equipment for proper operation. Ensures that weight and balance is correct, fuel supply is adequate, and survival and rescue equipment is properly stowed.
    • Brief crew members and non-crew members on safety, emergency procedures, and scope of mission. Pilot aircraft and command crew to accomplish assigned mission.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours as deemed by the customer.

QUALIFICATION

  • High School Graduate or Bachelor in Business Administration.

    Qualified on similar Group types. E.g. Twin Otter, Cessna Caravan.

    Must have recognized Instructor pilot school certificate from a military institute.
    Must have a good working knowledge of aviation mission planning systems and all Microsoft Office applications.

    Maintain a high level of physical fitness to lead by example and to maintain a UAE Class IC or IB Medical status.

    Should have a current FAA and/ or US Army Class II flight physical for initial application, then the ability to pass a UAE Military flight physical.

    Must be able to pass hands-on flight standardization evaluation.

EXPERIENCE

  • Ten years’ experience within the last five years piloting and instructing on aircraft type.

    Factory training in aircraft model to be flown or other combination of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.

    Preference will be given to those with Special Operations Aviation background.

    Must possess knowledge of FAA, GCAA or ICAO regulations.

    Minimum 5000 Flight Hours Group with +500 Hrs. on Aircraft type.

    500 NVG hours preferred.

    Performed Instructor Pilot duties for a minimum of 1000 flight hours.

    150 flight hours as a Standardization Pilot preferred.
