Job Description

Responsible for performing skilled and specialized mechanic work in the repair, maintenance, and replacement of tires on aircraft assigned and other motorized equipment. Position mounts/demounts tires; ensures conformance to industry standards; examines and repairs tires; performs preventative maintenance; and responds to emergency road calls. Oversee and ensure also inventories and requisitions supplies; also oversee prepares paperwork. Carries out directives from the team lead in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

Will also be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the overall Tyres&PRT assignment in the platform.
  • Oversee Perform on and off equipment inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Ensure to prepares tires for installation; mounts and demounts tires on aircraft; and fills tires to the proper air pressure.
  • Oversee Inspects and tests tires to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Examines and probes damaged, defective, or flat tires to determine the extent of damage and the feasibility of repair; and recommends the disposal of non-repairable tires.
  • Performs preventative maintenance checks on aircraft tires and related components.
  • Responds to emergency road calls.
  • Operates and maintains diagnostic equipment, hand/power tools, tire changing machines, balancing equipment, and other specialized tools and machinery.
  • Practices safety methods in the operation of equipment and performance of duties.
  • Oversee Inventories and ensures an adequate supply of tires and related parts; and requisitions/orders supplies as necessary.
  • Conducts effective OJT to qualify a cadre assigned maintenance personnel to assume responsibility for the platform maintenance organization as directed by base management.
  • Participate in and lead safety, quality, and CI initiatives outside the normal scope of their responsibility
  • Supervise and coordinate the hourly inspection workforce and coordinate with needed support personnel.
  • Review manpower vs. schedule to ensure there are enough positions to meet work demands.
  • Monitor producibility issues of the programs and provide input and suggestions to produce a quality product.
  • Oversee required maintenance on survival equipment.
  • Ensure to enters required Data into Computerized maintenance records i.e., aircraft forms and, history records.
  • Explain to the team member and interprets information contained in maintenance manuals, diagrams, schematics, blueprints, technical publications and operational procedures.
  • Manage the orders required equipment and supplies.
  • Performs collateral duty inspections and collateral duty quality assurance inspections as required.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work center.
  • Assure work carried out has been completed in accordance with the relevant approved Technical Data.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and take direction appropriately.
  • Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targets to Team Lead and Management.
  • Act as Team Lead during periods of his absence.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety of staff.
  • Perform other related duties/tasks as assigned by the Direct Line Manager.

QUALIFICATION

  •  - Diploma in Aviation or equivalent.
  • Must have skill level 7 certified or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

EXPERIENCE

 - Minimum of 6 - 8 years’ experience in Tyres&PRT and 3 years supervisory experience.

- Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures

- Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes.
