Job Description

Team Lead, Indirect Procurement (permanent position)

Function and Discipline

Pratt & Whitney Canada Supply Chain, Indirect Procurement (also referred to as “non-product”)

Function Description (short term)

Support the indirect procurement buyers team organization launch project

Function Description (long term)

Lead the indirect procurement buyers team located in Bangalore, India

Organization Level Duties and Responsibilities (short term)

  • Participate in launch project team reviews
  • Review, test and update existing documentation (onboarding, work instructions, access requests, reports,…)
  • Review and challenge existing Key Process Indicators (KPIs) in regards to performance and compliance needs
  • Review, test and upgrade Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks and calendar
  • Create missing documentation, including buyers job description, reports, work instructions and templates
  • Clarify communication channels and expectations with Indirect Procurement team; set reporting schedule
  • Participate in the hiring process of brand new team in Bangalore; onboard new team members

Organization Level Duties and Responsibilities (long term)

  • Directly supervise the indirect buyers team
  • Communicate company and organization goals
  • Create an inspiring working environment with opencommunication and continuous improvementculture
  • Set clear day-to-day operational objectives for the team aligned with the organization’s strategies and goals
  • Develop, capture and share standard work; ensure best practices and procedures are followed by team
  • Organize work schedules, delegate tasks, set deadlines and ensure completion on-time
  • Monitor workload and motivation, coordinate for additional support and readjust priorities as needed
  • Prepare responses to client inquiries about order status, changes and cancellations to ensure satisfaction
  • Ensure Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and compliance activities are completed per pre-set calendar
  • Monitor team performance; report on Key Process Indicators (KPI) metrics; propose changes for improvement
  • Evaluate and coach individuals; support hiring of new team members
  • Discover training needs; provide or organize knowledge transfer and systems access requests
  • Solve non complex problems; summarize issues and root causes before escalating

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • Customer-oriented attitude
  • Excellent english verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and nurture beneficial work relationships
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and solve problems
  • Capability to influence and coach others
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
  • Proficient with SAP and MS Office
  • Understanding of indirect procurement considered as an asset
