Job Description

Job Title: Software Implementation Engineer (Aero)

Job summary: This position offers you an opportunity to work in aerospace industry specific applications as a software implementation engineer. You will collaborate within a software development team committed to delivering the performance safety experience for passengers and operating crew in commercial operations involving Fixed Wing, Rotary Wing & Urban Air Mobility segments through technological applications comprising of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, system simulation/automation, data analytics and inference systems based on data/image/video/text/natural language analytics.

The ideal candidate would have adequate experience and competency in industry specific system requirements, operational and technical standards & protocols, maintenance aspects & related tools, systems architecture design, data acquisition technologies, system development and integration, proficient in programming languages and hands-on with simulation and analysis tools. He is required to perform detailed system analysis and trade-off evaluations while pushing boundaries in a wide technology space with the goal of arriving at the most optimal solution.

Cyient’s goal is to develop the next generation optimized technology-based aerospace solutions right from the simulation level through to user-facing applications that bring life to Cyient’s vision through smart features providing the most relevant notifications, optimum quality and visualization experiences.

Role and Responsibility:

  • Undertake design and development of technological applications comprising of system simulation/automation, analytics and inference systems.
  • Work on functional and non-functional system requirements analysis and undertake digital and analog system design and testing
  • Design and develop software modules for aerospace applications using programming languages like C/C++/C# etc.
  • Use software tools like Matlab/Simulink/LabVIEW etc. for system simulation, analysis, algorithm design & implementation & code generation.
  • Undertake real-time Embedded system/product design & development using V- Model / Agile
  • Manage technical project and drive solution/product development of airborne systems comprising of avionics/cabin electronics/ software applications.
  • Work on emerging concepts in aerospace and develop a demonstrable proof of concept (PoC).

Qualification and Skills:

  • BE or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering/Avionics/ECE/Electronics/ Computers/Instrumentation Engineering
  • 5+ years of domain experience and/or equivalent
  • Experience in Transportation domain of aerospace comprising of fixed/rotary wing aircraft including emerging domains of Urban Air Mobility
  • Experience in system designing/architecting products/solutions development complying with industry standards and regulations Aerospace domain
  • Awareness on airborne systems certification & qualification requirements with good understanding of relevant MIL STDs/ DO 178 A/B/C/D, Do 254 for system/software/hardware developments and related procedures
  • Hands-on experience on airborne communication systems, nav-aids and cockpit instruments.
  • Good understanding of futuristic technological developments in aerospace such as UAS/UAM and related applications
  • Proficiency in 3G/4G/LTE and 5G based communication protocols and system architecture
  • Basic understanding of aircraft subsystems like, engine, auxiliary power systems, electrical systems, pressurization systems, flight controls, landing gears, cabin management systems, communication systems, cabin lighting, exterior lighting, runway aids and ground-based navigation systems.
  • Understanding of electronic boards/assemblies, EMI/EMC, thermal management, mechanical enclosures, reliability, and manufacturability aspects
  • Understanding on design of industry specific Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)
  • Basic understanding on aircraft maintenance procedures, regulations and directives.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication and negotiation skills
  • Team building capabilities, bringing development to a fruitful result
