Technical Operations/Maintenance

Technical Operations includes the maintenance and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Technical Operations supply chain deliveries career opportunities where planning, operations and finance intersect. Working together, our group strives to operate a fully integrated supply chain that is dependable, efficient, and resourceful in support of the Company's aircraft maintenance goals.

Safety and Compliance is responsible for authoring technical documents in accordance with United Airlines policy including operating procedures, safety manuals, and bulletins/advisories. Communication is a heavy component of safety to raise awareness through computer-based training, briefings, newsletters, presentations, and training guides. And an ability to create metrics that measure the effectiveness of safety programs to guide where improvements need to be made.

Job overview and responsibilities

  • Report out on operational safety and compliance metrics.  Follow up on open action items from audits involving direct contact with site leadership
  • Input/Extract safety and compliance audit information into Excellence through Quality database and create briefings for site managers as well as executive briefings. 
  • Create and distribute through communication channels Newsletters, Bulletins and Advisories aimed at promoting Safety and Compliance culture.
  • Performs audit activities to ensure technical data is up-to-date and aligned across multiple platforms.
  • Script training blueprints for the creation of Computer Based Training sessions and help maintain records of training completion

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A quantitative field like operations research, continuous improvement, or supply chain management with a background in communications and process improvement.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in either safety, training, or compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; able to summarize and visualize data (i.e., Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI); competency in SQL system required. Ability to work several projects simultaneously. Must be detail oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of technical documentation procedures and controls.
  • Understanding of safety programs, compliance auditing, operating procedures, and metrics development.
