Job Description

Work with SSA material planners and other sections to ensure spares and other support items demanded by maintenance are placed into the logistics process. Confirm platform demands made by SSA for materials, supplies and equipment for maintenance, repair and projects; are in line with GAL GSOW obligations. Ensure proper tracking of spares consumption and coordinate with the beneficiary sections and stores regarding the status of the stores, and conduct detailed data analytics for assigned platforms to establish accurate inventory forecasts in accordance with the flying hour program, maintenance schedules, environmental conditions, hardware order/delivery schedules and mean time between failure/overhaul. Coordinate with GAL SCM Buyers to ensure accuracy of requirements and report accurate status to GAL and Customer leadership.

Will also be responsible for

  • Plan and coordinate the procurement of spares and repair demands from SSA and other operating bases
  • Review and confirm material forecasts in coordination with SSA material planners and develop detail purchase requirements plan.
  • Monitor inventory consumption, inventory levels and repair removals on assigned fleet types.
  • Maintain close coordination with Commercial Analysts & Buyers. Prepares request for short term contracts or bulk purchases
  • Maintain and improve Demand Fulfillment rate to ensure materials are available for operational requirements.
  • Manage repair and overhaul requirements and coordinate movements as required to ensure optimal repair and return times are achieved.
  • Coordinate, report and manage AOG requirements
  • Identify material substitutes for spares demanded.
  • Assist superiors in the revision of spares and material requirements; recommend and institute changes to inventory levels
  • Manage transactional and reporting requirements in both GAL ERP system and customer ERP to ensure accuracy of reporting, analytics and mistakeproofing.
  • Plan and order POL products to arrive just in time.
  • Monitor and report Internal and Contractual KPI’s

QUALIFICATION

  •  -Bachelors degree in Supply chain management or a minimum 10 years in a material and maintenance planning environment Must have knowledge in computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access a plus.

EXPERIENCE

  •  -Must have a minimum of 10 years of actual experience in aviation logistic and or maintenance operations. Aircraft Maintenance background a plus. Work experience as a material planner in aviation operation is suggested.
  • -Aviation maintenance technical Background a plus.
