This role is a new position working as part of the Training Design team (part of the CAE Global Training Organization ). Our purpose is to remove the burden of training design from operations. For the right candidate this position can offer an exciting challenge in becoming an architect in the design of CAE’s training programs moving forward. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for OEM or authority specific, ICAO 9868 compliant competency-based training program design, project planning and operational implementation of the completed training program across the CAE network, including management of operational evaluations where applicable.
  • The scope of this role includes sustaining existing training programs and developing and deploying new training programs in support of new or updated aircraft from the assigned OEM.
  • The Training Design Specialist will accompany the appropriate Head of Training Design and CAEs business representatives in meetings with OEMs that are related to training design.
  • Training Design Specialists may remain current and qualified instructors.
  • Training Design Specialists are also responsible assisting the PCO and DA group with analysis of training effectiveness, to include contextual analysis of instructor grading and RISE telemetry data.
  • Training Design Specialists are not responsible for the setup of type specific telemetry use cases.

Essential Duties

Assist the appropriate Head of Training Design in the production of training specifications and the associated statements of work for suppliers for the assigned OEM or authority. Completing and documenting impact analysis for all CMP inputs that could drive change in the training programs of the assigned OEM. Creating the required device, curriculum and courseware activities and assisting the appropriate Head of Training Design in producing actionable projects plans.

Assist the appropriate Head of Training Design in the development and maintenance

of training specifications for all instructor led and computer-based courseware and multimedia resources required for the effective conduct of the training programs under the assigned OEM. Training Design Specialists may be called upon to assist with training programs under other OEMs depending on workload in the group.

Liase with Digital Accelerator as needed to assess training effectiveness by supporting analysis of data gathered by instructor grading, RISE, and future technologies.Participate in program standardization meetings to ensure the intent of the training program is being satisfied and gather input for improvements.

Analysis of other training effectiveness data, such as client surveys, instructor feedback, standardization meetings etc.

Skills/Experience

  • Technical Skills: Candidates with previous experience with the listed technology are preferred. Candidates with computer literacy and the ability learn new systems quickly will be considered. Microsoft business suite with MS Project - Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • The Training Design Specialist must possess and maintain a high degree of proficiency in current aviation regulations for EASA and FAA and all guidance documents.
  • A high degree of familiarity with OEM publications and aircraft or training experience in the relevant OEM aircraft is highly desirable.
  • A background in pilot training delivery is required and a strong understanding of competency-based training and assessment and ICAO competencies is preferred.
  • FAA or EASA pilot certification required, with dual qualification preferred.
  • Experience as a management pilot or air carrier training data management preferred.
  • Significant focus and the ability to plan multiple projects simultaneously in detail is required.
