Job Description

The Training Standards Manager will be responsible for designing and conducting training programmes throughout all sections of NMC. The Training Standards Manager will ensure that training syllabuses are kept current and fitting to current and future business needs.

Your Responsibilities 

  • To lead, motivate and performance manage a team of trainers
  • Develop and ensure inhouse training Syllabus/Modules and relevant checklists for AirAsia Group
  • Evaluate training needs for AirAsia Group 
  • Ensure all trainers provide the same high standard of delivery, so that all departments are provided with a service that maximises their ability of managing difficult situations.
  • Build annual training programs and prepare teaching plans  
  • Develop and oversee the planning, administration and delivery of training activities, including the expansion of training curriculum and offering
  • Conducts inhouse training for Basic Indoctrination, Recurrent Training and other types of training as required
  • Constantly re-evaluate training needs and re-design and adapt training programmes and materials as needed
  • Manage day to day contact with key stakeholders and maintaining a positive working relationship to ensure smooth running of the operation.
  • Develop an understanding of each department and act as a key role in problem solving
  • To promote and develop the wider aims and objectives of NMC
  • To manage and accreditation, quality standards and procedures to meet the requirements of airline safety standards
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on content, design and sign off process
  • To manage and support the training team and carry out regular reviews of staff performance and professional development
  • To prepare an annual (or regular) annual training department action plan and oversee the progress of the plan
  • Keep up to date with trends and best practise, with a focus on the digital world. 

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree, aviation and business related fields would be an advantage
  • Training or teaching qualification (desirable)
  • At least 5 years of airline experience, with at least 3 years of demonstrable experience in training and development
  • Experience in managing a team  
  • Can build good relationships with people at all levels to ensure the delivery of a first class training service
  • A hunger for continuous improvement and daring to do things differently
  • A thirst for attention to detail and creating value within the  AirAsia Group
  • Self starter mentality and can-do attitude
  • Influencer- able to influence stakeholders with different mindsets
  • Resilience to meet conflicting deadlines
  • A good understanding of technology and digitalisation in the operations control space is an advantage
