Job Description

As Vice President Base Maintenance, you will be responsible for leading the full range of Base Maintenance activities across our entire fleet. Ensuring that all scheduled and non-scheduled Base Heavy Maintenance conducted on our aircraft is to quality and industry standards and is managed in the most efficient, productive and cost effective manner.

  • You will have a proven track record of achievements specifically in transformation across safety, compliance, cost structure and turnaround times, including 24/7 operations, with the ability to identify improvement projects which will add value to the business, cater for fleet growth and add to the bottom line.
  • This role will provide leadership to a large multicultural workforce and will ensure that our teams are engaged, motivated and supported to produce best practice maintenance in a safe and compliant environment, within budgets and timescales.
  • Responsibility overview:
  • Plan and manage the maintenance undertaken within Base Maintenance ensuring all activities undertaken are performed in compliance with technical and quality standards as approved by the UAE GCAA and other Regulatory Authorities.
  • Ensure that sufficient equipment and resources are available and prepared to perform all maintenance activities required within Base Heavy Maintenance strategic growth plans.
  • Critically examine and challenge working practices within the Base Heavy Maintenance value stream whilst developing new and improved maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Implement the necessary change management that will ensure sections can meet fleet expansion, product development programs and achievement of corporate strategic goals.
  • Critically analyse aircraft technical reliability/post-hangar-release performance results.
  • Review maintenance check performance and produce regular activity and reliability reporting that will ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, tooling and docking are maintained at the optimum level of serviceability.
  • Ensure satisfactory performance and contribution is achieved from any third party agencies contracted for Emirates.
  • Collaborate with other departments to keep abreast of the macro climate and deliver to strategy and tactical plans.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Honours
  • Significant experience (over 12 years) in Engineering Maintenance
  • Comprehensive Knowledge and Skills in the below areas:- In-depth exposure to the heavy maintenance environment
  • Managing a diverse multicultural team
  • Project Management in heavy maintenance.
  • Experience as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer with qualifications acceptable to the UAE GCAA in the area of operational aircraft (qualifications should have been held for a minimum of 12 years)
  • Must have held a senior management position within engineering or maintenance for at least 5 years.
