Job Description

We now have a vacancy for a Vice President Technical Asset Management on our Asia Pacific (APAC) team on a permanent contract basis. Reporting to the SVP Regional Manager, Technical Asset Management APAC, you will be specifically responsible for the technical management of our aircraft assets in the region. This position will be based in either our Hong Kong or Singapore office.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Engage with industry participants to ensure SMBC AC remains current with all aspects of the aircraft asset management function
  • Negotiation of LOI’s/ Leases for new and used aircraft to ensure the highest standards of asset protection are enshrined in all deals
  • Engage with Airframe OEM’s and MRO’s as necessary to facilitate aircraft deliveries and redeliveries
  • Project manage aircraft redeliveries including budgeting, contractor management, customer liaison, Airworthiness Authority liaison and MRO control
  • Interface with other departments within the organisation to enhance the understanding and measurement of the risks associated with aircraft ownership
  • Set airframe maintenance reserve rates through the Maintenance Review Board process and monitor the exposure associated with fleet maintenance and operational issues
  • Manage airframe maintenance from workscope through final invoice payment and process related maintenance reserve claims for owned and managed aircraft
  • Engage and project manage consultants working on behalf of SMBC AC and ensure the contractor base has the best talent available in the market
  • Represent SMBC AC at industry and OEM conferences ensuring an effective agenda is set to maximise the return 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognised degree in aeronautical or other relevant Engineering discipline or FAA/EASA licensed aircraft mechanics qualification with a number of years’ experience in aircraft transition management
  • Related past airline and/or MRO experience is essential
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance programmes, modifications, reconfiguration work and aircraft technical records 
  • Knowledge of aircraft lease documentation and maintenance risk exposure
  • An ability to manage a project to tight timelines within budgetary constraints
