Job Description

• A PhD/M.S Degree in Aerodynamics, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of previous industry experience
• Good competency in Centrifugal Compressor design rules, philosophy, review/gate methods
• Good understanding of Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics, specifically related to the performance prediction of centrifugal compressors and axial compressors and turbines
• Experience in designing Aero compressor/turbine components (inlets, side-streams, impellers, diffusers, return, channels, volutes, etc.) using 1-D, 2-D and 3-D analysis tools.
• Working knowledge of ANSYS CFX/FLUENT/Turbo-GRID and Workbench is must
• UG (working knowledge on geometry cleaning and de-featuring)
• VB scripting and/or working knowledge programming language will be added advantage

Your responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of tasks associated with turbo machinery design and analysis. Such as centrifugal compressor, gas turbine components (inlets, side-streams, impellers, rotor, diffusers, return channels, volutes, etc…) using different tools e.g. 1-D, 2-D and 3-D analysis.   
• Communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and with clients.                                                                                                                                                                                    
• Self-motivated, well organized and able to prioritize work.
• Must be technically detail oriented with skills in advanced analysis, solving complex problems, decision making, managing multiple projects, and meeting stringent customer deadlines.
• Must have solid interpersonal skills, be a team player, and be committed to training, and guiding employees within the organization.
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be willing to learn and get cross-trained to support various product lines (turbines/compressors, design/analysis/programming).
• Knowledge of API, ASME, DIN EN codes associated with Centrifugal Compressor
• Perform hand calculations and correlate/compare analytical results
• Establish efficient and organized project documentation per departmental guideline
• Performs other related duties as assigned related to PI and/or LEAN as needed in team/organization      
• Flexibility to work in different time-zone (especially Germany & USA)
