Job Description

To carry out scheduled and unscheduled preventive / corrective maintenance for aeronautical ground lighting (AGL) systems as deployed in accordance with applicable OHS standards, regulations and documentary requirements

Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, assist operation and repair all aspects of the Aeronautical Ground Lighting System located at all customer air bases to ensure serviceability and maintenance of AGL asset as per customer and regulatory requirement
• Take necessary measures to ensure availability of the AGL control panel display utilised in the ATC environment providing users with seamless operations as required
• Carry out Complete designated scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities of the electrical and non-electrical equipment airfield equipment such as approach lights, runway edge identifier lights, threshold lights, centreline lights, precision approach path indicator lights, taxiway lights, constant current regulators, windsocks etc. to ensure full functionality at all times.
• Follow the procedures set forth in the Equipment Instruction Manuals and the departmental standard operating procedures and adhere to applicable Military and/or Civil Aviation regulations for compliance
• Complete all relevant and required maintenance documentation in compliance with the applicable regulations and standards
• Escalate any unresolved matters to the supervisor for timely action
• Ensure worked AGL asset are properly maintained as per SOP regulations and ensure airfield lighting serviceability as per the requirement of the customer and ICAO regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate safety awareness at all times and work in accordance with Health and safety regulations as directed
• Perform additional responsibilities that may arise from time to time to ensure operational / organisational requirements are met
• Safety responsibilities and accountabilities of this position are detailed in the Safety Management Manual of the organization. The Job holder is required to maintain awareness and knowledge in relation to their safety responsibilities associated with their job function

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma in Electrical Studies required or completion of approved AGL manufacturer training courses
• Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred
• Professional Certifications:
• Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline preferred
• Direct OEM trained certifications preferred

Experience:

• 3 years in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and/or installation of aeronautical ground lighting systems and airfield management
• Experience within an ATC/Military environment preferred

Special Technical Skills:

• English language proficiency required. Working knowledge of Arabic preferred
• Be familiar with applicable Military and/or Civil Aviation Regulations
• Valid UAE driving licence required
