Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a group of Junior Fire Officers in the areas of fire vehicle operation, life preservation and minimization of property loss at an aircraft incident/accident site
  • Operate sophisticated firefighting and rescue equipment and vehicles
  • Plan and maintain the operational effectiveness of the unit under his/her charge
  • Ensure appropriate operational standards, procedures and operating practices are established and maintained
  • Organize and implement fire safety awareness and emergency preparedness programmes
  • Maintain operational readiness and effectiveness by passing the Airport Firefighter Fitness Test (AFFT) annually

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma from a local Polytechnic
  • Strong inclination for rescue work
  • Physically and medically fit with good eyesight in order to lead team of emergency officers to respond and mitigate emergencies at the aerodrome (you will be required to undergo a physical fitness assessment if shortlisted)
  • Self-disciplined and composed under pressure
  • Leadership qualities as well as good communication and writing skills
  • Candidates with Class 3 driving license would be preferred
  • Willing to perform shift duties
  • No experience required
