Sales

Our Sales team is the largest revenue-generation department at United. They work closely with travel agencies, United travel departments and corporate clients.

Job overview and responsibilities

Action oriented analyst that uses critical thinking to convert business requirements to data driven insights. Must work closely with onshore teams and support generation of Sales incentive contracts and further mine data to produce contract performance reporting and calculative incentive payouts. This is a hands-on role that requires work on multiple technologies.

  • Actively works with Sales support teams to produce legally accurate contracting documents
  • Develop a process to periodically measure and report contract performance
  • Data Related Tasks:
    • Partner with business teams to understand business requirements and support their data needs
    • Pull data required from different data sources to conduct business analysis, build reports, dashboards and metrics to monitor performance using data visualization tools like Spotfire/Excel/Power BI
    • Focus on validating, improving and streamlining the business processes that will reduce the manual effort; using tools like VBA and Advance Excel
    • Evolve and enhance existing Power BI/ Spotfire reports based on business needs
    • Support adhoc projects for Sales Policy team which involves data crunching and auditing processes
  • Manage agency Incentive calculation activities which include calculating amount of incentive payout due to each TMC for each period
  • Ensure all audits and enough audit trails, reconciliations and validation processes are in place to minimize errors
  • Work with Sales Managers to plan and roll out promotional campaigns to targeted customers and measuring performance
  • Involve in business planning and design of road map to execute the transition from old product platform to a new tool

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required 

  • Engineer/Bachelor's degree in Maths, Computers, Science required
  • 2-4 years of Industry experience in Data analytics and process automation
  • Well versed and hands on expereince in technoligies like VBA, SQL
  • Mandatory Experience in any one of visualization tool – Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau
  • Must have hands on experience of having worked on projects involving technologies – VBA, SQL/Teradata
  • Expertise in Visualization tools like Power BI, Spotfire
  • Experience in writing complex SQL queries
  • Good knowledge of Advance Excel and MS Access databases
  • Be proficient in using database querying tools and able to write complex queries and procedures using Teradata SQL and/or Microsoft TSQL
  • S/he has in the past built tools/data-models to solve specific business problems
  • Strong project management, time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex data and analytics into visually appealing, easy to understand reporting
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships with peers and internal stakeholders
  • Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Must have the ability to adapt to changes quicklyanding of systems and data and how they are programmed to fucntion and interact
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field like Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Computers, MBA
  • Expertise in database management and querying languages
  • Able to understand the data and design and implement normalized data models/structures
