Job Description

Educational Qualifications         

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar field) with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience with the following minimum requirements:
    • Five years of experience in aviation Engineering and Maintenance,
    • Three years of experience in warranty and/or insurance related work
    • Two years in supervisory role.

OR

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or similar field) or ICAO Type II licence with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience with the following minimum requirements:
    • Five years of experience in aviation Engineering and Maintenance,
    • Three years of experience in warranty and/or insurance related work
    • Two years in supervisory role.

Job Description

  • Efficiently and effectively, plan, organize, co-ordinate and control DE-WG team in order to collect maximum compensation in line with Oman Air policy and procedures.
  • Ensure DE-WG section obtains/accesses all contracts, agreements, commitment letter, OEM documentation, etc. (or relevant sections thereof) and subsequently ensure that the same are kept in an organized manner.
  • Review all contracts, agreements, commit letters, etc. to identify areas of compensation. Where necessary ensure regular review.
  • Set up a standard procedure within the section whereby DE-WG personnel can identify and review all potential defects, guarantee shortfalls, etc and initiate a claim process. Follow up timely closures and contest cases with OEMs, vendors, suppliers, MROs, etc as applicable.
  • Ensure that AMOS warranty module is used to the maximum, while at the same time requesting for improvements as needed. Automate routine tasks as much as possible.
  • Ensure all compensations are transferred to Finance department in a transparent and timely manner.
  • Produce regular reports on collected compensations.
  • Provide feedback to Contracts department on signed contracts in areas of compensation; provide comments on draft agreements/proposals as well.
  • Ensure data collection for long term guarantees.
  • Provide regular and timely information and tips on warranty process to concerned sections/personnel.
  • Support Supply Chain in warranty repair orders as necessary.
  • Comment on/contest invoices against Oman Air as necessary and as called upon.
  • Liaise with other airlines’ Warranty and Guarantee as allowable; attend conferences whenever possible.
  • Train, guide and coach subordinates in light of career development and increased responsibilities.
  • Provide support during off hours as needed.
  • Assist SMDE as required.
