Ethics and Compliance Team

InterGlobe Aviation Limited (“IndiGo”) is committed to conducting its business with the highest standards of integrity and in compliance with applicable laws. Housed within the Governance Risk and Compliance (“GRC”) department, the Ethics and Compliance team ensures that IndiGo’s operations are compliant with applicable regulations, IndiGo’s Code of Conduct, its internal policies and ethical standards.

Leadership in Ethics

  • Lead the team focused on internal investigations and risk assessments
  • Review operations and codes of conduct to evaluate how effectively they practice ethics
  • Identify new ways to implement ethical practices in various functions
  • Ensure that all company policies are ethical and adhere to government compliance regulations
  • Develop new policies and codes of conduct that promote ethics within a workplace
  • Meet management teams to discuss how they can implement ethics at work
  • Assist in developing the internal strategy and frameworks of the Ethics and Compliance team as well as establish the annual work plan in collaboration with the team and stakeholders, set objectives, performance measurements, standards and results expected
  • Monitor implementation of the Ethics and Compliance team’s work plan, oversee progress and ensure the delivery of results as planned and according to expectations
  • Evaluate activities/initiatives to ensure alignment with organisational strategic plans, relevant frameworks and standards
  • Drive periodic review to update internal policies and procedures
  • Plan and allocate resources to achieve goals and ensure cost effective and appropriate use of resources
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration by providing the team with clear direction, objectives, and guidance to enable them to perform their duties responsibly, effectively and efficiently

Internal Investigations

  • Lead the team to promptly conduct investigations pursuant to complaints and allegations of ethical wrongdoing or conflicts of interest and prepare written investigative reports as necessary.
  • Ensure all investigations are conducted in accordance with IndiGo’s incident response mechanism and methodologies
  • Implement remediation actions as directed by the Ethics and Compliance Committee
  • Assist with case management, tracking, analytics, and reporting for preparing periodic reports for the Compliance Committee and other internal and external stakeholders

Compliance Assessments

  • Under the direction of the Head Ethics and Compliance plan, conduct, and oversee compliance assessments in identified areas including anti-bribery and corruption, privacy, competition, and international trade.
  • Effectively engage with relevant stakeholders for discussing findings and remediation actions.
  • Prepare presentations for senior management and other internal stakeholders and write reports, ensuring appropriate documentation.

Growing Awareness on Ethics and Compliance

  • Develop and deliver training sessions to IndiGo’s employees on its Code of Conduct, ethical best practices, and guidelines for better compliance
  • Set and promote ethical standards, in accordance with the Code of Conduct of IndiGo as well as its values
  • Ensure development, implementation and continuous evolution of the strategy as well as impactful tactical initiatives for raising awareness of the IndiGo’s core values, ethical standards and expected professional conduct, both internally and externally
  • Ensure stakeholders are proactively engaged, to achieve clarity around compliance management and integrity standards, to eliminate conflict of interest in the IndiGo’s policies and governance
  • Ensure appropriate guidance is available on IndiGo’s Code of Conduct
  • Ensure there are appropriate mechanisms for a coherent application of the compliance and ethics standards, driving the culture of integrity, accountability, transparency, respect and professionalism
  • Ensure there are relevant compliance and ethics training opportunities for all personnel (i.e. from onboarding, through induction to ongoing development)

Knowledge Management and Innovation

  • Ensure appropriate tools and evaluation mechanisms are in place to provide regular feedback on the existing ethics and compliance management practices, to ensure their continual relevance to day-to-day operations, also in the light of external benchmarking and recent thought leadership in the subject of compliance management
  • Enable the exchange of lessons learnt and best practice for proactive compliance management, between all functions within IndiGo
  • Drive development and implementation of best practice and innovative compliance management approaches, minimise risks and maximise reliable achievement of objectives, whilst addressing uncertainty and acting with integrity
  • Drive the effort focused on building compliance management capacity and capability amongst the relevant stakeholders, ensuring operational practices follow a consistently high compliance standards within the established framework
