Job Description

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian Defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead avionics hardware/software development activities - from architecture to flight testing.
  • Development of embedded software/hardware for applications such as data recorders, on-board computers, flight controller, battery management systems, power electronic control systems etc.
  • Define architecture, work breakdown structure, development plans & process, requirements, VnV plans for components and subsystems.
  • Review VnV reports for acceptance. Conduct component-level & subsystem level FMEA and design reviews.
  • Guide & mentor the team to execute their deliverables·
  • Cross functional interface with systems, electrical power systems, flight controls, structures, thermal and manufacturing to ensure smooth integration of components onto the flight.
  • Establish processes for hardware and software certification in the company. Interface with the certification agency.
  • Establish scope and framework for standardization of integration processes and common tools identification.
  • Prepare associated documentation for company records.

Must have:

  • Experience in hardware design, software development, system integration, incremental, unit & integration testing, mechanical packaging & vehicle integration.
  • Experience in all stages of design life cycle from architecture definition to product acceptance.
  • Worked on:
  1. Hardware design & analysis tools such as Eagle/OrCAD/Altium, Pollex/ Hyperlynx. etc
  2. Software frameworks such as FreeRTOS, ROS, Gazebo, etc.

iii. Setting up of SITL/HITL Simulations or Test-benches

  • Led a team of 5+ members.
  • Excellent articulation, communication & interpersonal skills.

Good to have:

  • Experience in developing/integrating avionic components such as sensors (IMU, GPS, airspeed, voltage, current and temperature), payloads (EO/IR Camera, RADAR, LIDAR, LRF), servos/solenoids, Flight Controllers, Data Recorders, On-board Computers, Communication Modules, Antennas, BEC, etc.
  • Experience in DO-178/DO-160/DO-254/mil. certification and standards.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Defence/Automotive domains.

Basic Requirement:

  • Bachelors/Masters with at least one degree in Electrical/Electronics/Avionics Engineering
  • 10+ years of Design experience
