Job Description

The department Turbine Operations Engineering is a part of the Vestas Service organization. We are currently expanding the organization with highly qualified employees.
The department is responsible for delivering service solutions towards Service business of Vestas enabling it to fulfill its aspirational, strategic targets. Furthermore Turbine Operations Engineering is the global orchestration function for Regional Operations Engineering (tech. Support) focusing on the continuous improvement of its operating model across the whole world.
SDC is part of Turbine Operations Engineering and is supporting all regional teams on their main processes and deliverables. SDC is mainly located in Chennai, India.

Responsibilities

• Review of blade inspection reports
• Evaluation of blade condition and perseverance of damage type and severity
• Report findings back to regional engineering teams
• Create regular overview of blade inspection findings and provide feedback to global and regional engineering teams for continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Technical degree at Bachelors level (or equivalent), for example in mechanical/ aerospace engineering with knowledge and experience of composite structures
• 5+ years of blade inspection and repair experience
• Good written and spoken English
• Computer literate in general IT applications (MS Office)

 
Competencies

• Self-starter and able to work alone to review large numbers of inspection reports
• Good attention to detail
• Innovative communication with regional engineering stakeholders to inform of inspection results and alert to any serious issues
• Ability to work with colleagues remotely from a range of different cultures and backgrounds
