Area of Responsibility

  • Freight Center Operations

Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this role is to process export and import customers, ensure that they are served in an efficient manner and within agreed times frames, controlling the queuing process at the Freight Centre to ensure that all customers are treated equally and they are served within a time order system. This role will also process export documents of cargo concerning flights and truck ensuring outgoing and incoming cargo are accounted properly and delivered on time to the right consignee.

 

Key Responsibilities

Pre-flight duties (Before arrival of flight)

  • If there is any outbound shipment, GHA to coordinate with warehouse and attend the build up to ensure maximizing of space.
  • To ensure that proper hotel reservation is arranged for freighter crew by coordinating with HO for correct names of crew.
  • Arrange and coordinate with hotel for transport pick up to and from hotel and airport and inform hotel and crew if there are changes of ETD.
  • To observe the flight movement (ETAandETD) and update the hotel if there is any retiming of the flight. So hotel can make a correct wakeup call and arrange the pick up (if any retiming).
  • Check the CPM about any inbound cargo or create a booking for outbound cargo.
  • Send the estimate payload, load plan, GEN DEC and catering request for SHJ.
  • Fuelling - To call the fuelling, once ETA of flight received from origin. They need to arrange fuel truck to avoid delay of fuelling.
  • To inform Engineering the ETA/ETD of every flight as they need to arrange manpower.

Upon arrival of the flight

  • GHA to coordinate with the dispatcher to ensure the ULD is ready for inbound cargo (if any) and outbound shipment is ready at the ramp (if any).
  • To collect the GD from the incoming crew and send to load control for immigration record.
  • To check the incoming AWB, manifest and ensure they are tallied.
  • To request GPU or airs starter from the dispatcher if required by Captain.
  • Handover the flight plan and other document to the joining crew.
  • To ensure that the refueling tanker is available upon or before the arrival of the aircraft.
  • To ensure the catering arrive on time to avoid delay of departure.
  • To coordinate with manifesting to ensure the joining AWB and manifest send to the flight without any delay.
  • To coordinate with hotel to ensure the transport is arranged to collect the joining crews.
  • To ensure the catering arrive on time as it will avoid delay of departure.

Key Responsibilities Continued

After the departure of the flight
• To ensure that the load Control unit sends the CPM to the required destination.
• To coordinate with ULD to ensure the ULD message is sent to the destinations.
• To ensure the departure message is sent to the destinations.
• To manifest the joining shipment from CAR.
• Update SPAR
• To check with the immigration and hotel to ensure the incoming crew arrives in hotel.
• To prepare the flight report.

General
• To enter all Data of import and export AWBs in computer System and complete statistics and Day end in order to generate export reports. 
• Ensure that all outgoing and incoming cargo are accounted documented and delivered to right consignee and or cargo left the cargo facility in right time to be loaded on to aircraft. 
• Ensure correct weighing of export cargo which is essential for flight safety.
• Ensure that Import Shipment is physically count during the Bay Inventory.
• Proactively ensuring that the agents request requirements are maintained as per the SOP

Qualifications

  • Educated to a graduate level.
  • PC Literate

 

Experience

Minimum 4 years experience in cargo operations
• Minimum 4 years experience in handling of special cargoes – VAL/DGR/AVI /HUM/PES/PER etc.
• Experienced in a freighter and wide-bodied aircraft operations – pallet building/load planning etc.
