Job Description

To ensure smooth handling of cargo Operations in both domestic as we all international Cargo.Cargo service agent is an important member of the team responsible for carrying out operational activities, under the supervision of the CSSA/DO/DM. It is also expected from the CSA to maintain team spirit with his fellow colleagues to yield the desired result for the company.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of ground crew in the loading, unloading,securing, and staging of aircraft cargo.
• Observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant resources.
• Analysing information and evaluating results to choose the best solutions and solve prob
• Communicating and providing information to Supervisors, co-workers and subordinates.
• Organizing, planning and prioritizing work, developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish your work.
• Coordinating the work and activities of others and getting members of a group to worktogether to accomplish tasks.
• Developing constructive and cooperative working relationship with others.
• Have to build up and break down as told by supervisors and also has to ensure that process comply with the AISATS cargo SOP and airline standard well.
• Shall also be responsible to look after any irregularity which occurs during either import orexport and incase if it happens will ensure that whatever is being done to resolve it should be according to or will abide to the local customs and airline rules and regulations.
• Keeping oneself technically updated and applying new knowledge to job.
• Using relevant information and individual judgement to determine whether events orprocesses comply with laws, regulations or standards.
• Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect and corporation among team members.
• Check import & export documentation to determine cargo contents.
• Retrieve stored items and trace lost shipments as necessary.
• Inspect and count items received and check them against documents, recording shortages and rejecting damaged goods.
• Notifying consignees or customers of the arrival freight and arrange for delivery.
• Keep records of all goods shipped, received and store
• Coordinate and supervise activities of workers engaged in loading and unloading.
• Direct or participate in cargo handling in order to ensure completeness of load and evendistribution of weight
• Responsible and accountable for overall quality, safety and security of operations in the assigned area of work.
• Responsible for reporting to his supervisors’ occurrences, events, violations and acts that may affect safety, security and company reputation.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 12 month work experience in Air Cargo Operations / Freight Handling andwarehousing.
• Eligible in dangerous goods Acceptance and live Animal regulations an advantage.
• Effective people management and planning / organizing skills, customer focused,analytical with good judgement.
• Fluent in written and spoken
