Job Description

Main Objectives

  • To work within Corporate Affairs & Communications Department to build a strong and productive relationship between the Company and its stakeholders.
  • Main Duties
  • Coordinate PR / internal comm. opportunities – Outstations:
  • Meet with department head monthly to source and identify PR and internal comms opportunities.
  • Submit summary report (as per template) to MC end of the first week of every month.
  • Assist MC in drafting press release –one per month.
  • Coordinate FAM trips inbound:
  • Work with EDB / Cultural and Tourism Ministry to jointly develop and support in-bound media trips.
  • Arrange logistics of the media visits for example flights, accommodation, transport, protocol and materials.
  • Identify media opportunities to promote GF services and products.
  • Liaise with outstations to identify potential media trips.
  • Accompany DCAC / SMCC to represent GF at these events.
  • Manage budget for in-bound FAM trips.
  • Responsible for publication of quarterly magazine – Ya Halla:
  • Responsible for Arabic editorial in Ya Halla, work with MC and manage team to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Develop circulation list for Ya Halla – updated twice annually.
  • Ensure Ya Halla is distributed to circulation list one week prior to being issued in Bahrain.
  • Responsible for ensuring Ya Halla is loaded onto GF website.
  • Responsible for Translations:

o            

  • Manage translator, establish style guidelines, ensure translations meet corporate requirements.
  • Ensure all translations are delivered on agreed time frame.
  • Ensue all translations are checked prior to distribution.
  • Manage budget for translations.
  • Prepare a bilingual glossary of aviation terminology, update quarterly and circulate among CC team.
  • Identify media opportunities - forward features in key magazines locally and regionally.
  • Coordinate PR / internal comm. opportunities – Product: o
  • Meet with department head monthly to source and identify PR and internal comms opportunities.
  • Submit summary report (as per template) to MC end of the first week of every month.
  • Assist MC in drafting press release –one per month.
  • Work with Manager PR to arrange Regional Media Events – one event to be held in each destination per year, and with Manager budget for regional media events.
  • Work with DCAC to carry out research / audits and surveys as per GF comms plan, and liaise with agencies as required.
  • Assist SMCC in the execution of stakeholder engagement program, and build relationships with government ministries and other institutions to build GF profile.
  • Assist DCAC in all corespondance with parliament and shura council, and draft letters in Arabic on behalf of CEO when requested.
  • Responsible for managing the and making sure clippings are ready with translations (if required) for daily morning meeting and make sure a two members of CC staff are always present to assist him in preparing am clippings on time.
  • Work with MC to make sure key company collateral including but not limited to – company bio, fact sheet, Q&As, Executive Bios updated quarterly in Arabic.
  • Responsible for the issue of letter / greeting cards / telexes / ads on behalf of the company for occasions such as National Day / condolences… etc (corporate advertising), and ensure the budget for above is managed.
  • Carry out other tasks or related duties as required or assigned by the Senior Manager Corporate Communications / DCAC.

Education & Training

  • University degree, or its equivalent but this job is mainly based on specific experience in the field of public relations.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Public Relations.
