Job Description

The Deputy Chief Security Officer is directly responsible to the Chief Security Officer (CSO). He shall assist the CSO to implement directions issued by the appropriate authority on aviation security and for deployment of security personnel for security functions as per the requirement of AVSEC Order 5/2009 and exercise day-to-day functional control of the airline's security department. He shall have a professional security background and familiar with airline operations. 

Task and Responsibilities

The functions of the Deputy Chief Security Officer shall be as under. -

  • Ensure implementation of task assigned by CSO from time to time.
  • Conduct an initial and comprehensive security survey of the airline facilities equipment and activities.
  • Promote security awareness and vigilance.
  • Ensure an effective threat/occurrence response capability.
  • Initiate special security measures during periods of increased risk and/or for critical flights and routes.
  • Be familiar with relevant legislations and regulations relating to aviation security,
  • Overseeing security operations across network which includes OAL and NSOP operations.
  • Oversee Rostering, manpower planning, planning for cost reduction processes. 
  • Monitor and follow-up staff issues / grievances and conduct investigations wherever required.
  • Station setup, recruitment.
  • Lead the team in planning and implementation of International Operations.
  • Ensure to conduct audit, inspection and survey if certified.
  • Guide and Monitor Enforcement team. 
  • Identify malpractices with proper evidence and making reports.
  • Oversee Security operation Budget planning.
  • Has authority to make decisions for all security related functions for AirAsia India Private Ltd. under the guidance of CSO. 
  • Is accountable to the CSO for security functions and responsible for ensuring these functions are performed and procedures are implemented in accordance to the applicable regulations and standards of AirAsia India.
