Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Developing codes for the UAV conceptual sizing that are scalable, robust and verifiable.
  • Performing trade studies, sensitivity analysis, surrogate modeling.
  • Creating task breakdown from the allocated tasks, and determining objectives and deliverables.
  • Performing Multidisciplinary Design optimization (MDO) using DOE and non-DOE methods to obtain an efficient design.
  • Performing code verification, validation, and documentation.
  • Working in collaboration with other subsystems for detailed design optimization tasks

Must have:

  • Proficiency in programming with Python or Matlab.
  • Familiarity with Optimization tools like HEEDS or modeFRONTIER.
  • Familiarity with parameter based optimization techniques.

Good to have:

  • Background in at least one of the aircraft subsystems like aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, etc.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as Solidworks and Catia.
  • Familiarity with analysis and simulation tools such as Fluent, Ansys structural, SU2, etc.

Basic Requirement:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study, along with compulsory courses in optimization.
  • 3+ years of work experience in the Design Optimization domain.
