Job Description

Educational Qualifications         

  • Bachelor degree in a related discipline preferably in business studies with 12 years of relevant work experience in cargo industry within one or more of its components segment – dedicated air cargo carriers, integrators, forwarded, brokers and cargo division of combination airlines with s strong reputation for business development and profitable growth within which 5 years in a senior managerial position.
  • A commercial experience executive with a strong marketplace orientation. Has been charged with the commercial growth and development of a business.
  • An experince leading and coaching a group of sales and marketing professional and bringing them to higher level of performance. The successful candidate should be a proven strong leader of sales professional not simply a strong sales professional himself/herself.
  • Experince developing and implementing sales development programs, sales support tools and sales tracking system Is desirable.
  • Has ideally worked in both regional leadership role and a corporate office with good appreciation of how to liaise and interact effectively between the two.
  • Has a demonstrated track records of crafting new solution to maximise revenue contribution including the pursuit of new and developing, non-traditional freight markets.
  • Experienced in air cargo marketing – pricing, revenue management, market segmentation and new product development.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. uses this skills to build bridges with other to help get things done in a cooperative fashion
  • Proven and proficient interpersonal and relationship-building skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships, both externally and internally.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Proven and proficient presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade and / or facilitate discussion among others.
  • Strategically oriented and able to engage in challenging yet productive business debates among the top team.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • A strong manager who is disciplined and demonstrates this to others by example, and then hold people accountable for results. A proven track records leading cohesive, result oriented teams.
  • A bright intelligent executive with strong analytical, organisational and press skills.
  • Fact base and rigorous. Logical and data-driven, with strong decision making and critical-thinking skills.

Strategic

Develop and implement a commercial strategy that position Oman Air as a strong cargo carrier in the region and beyond

Operational

  • Manage all cargo commercial activities of Oman Air and to ensure that all commercial objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Manage and execute customer targeting, developments, best practise and short and long term sales action in accordance with the business plan.
  • Managing existing and new customer relationships and ensuring optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that Oman Air possess best-in-class market intelligence relative to all related cargo business activities (e.g. market development, supply and demand, strategic development, competitor activities, etc.) and communicate pro-actively with key internal stakeholders.
  • Manager Oman Air relationships with major customers, suppliers and alliance partners at forwarders, brokers, major corporations and other airlines.
  • Oversee and develop Oman Air relationship with key suppliers of direct and indirect cargo support services, with an emphasis on general sales service agents on the revenue side and outsourced on-airport handlers on the expenses side.
  • Develop the annual regional revenue and cost budget together with VP-Commercial Cargo & SVP-RRC.
  • Develop and refine, on an on-going basis, the revenue and product mix, to ensure that the aggregate impact of sales across its product lines and sales channel met or exceeds revenue and therefor profit objectives.
  • Deliver expected results as per the budget and specific objectives.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly forecast updates based on actual and expected performance.
  • Contribute towards the achievement of continuous improvement objectives.
  • Effectively manage the Cargo Sales across the regions in order to deliver on all objectives and expectation of the Company.
  • Establish high expectation for all employees with regards to performance and adherence to the Company values and policies in accordance with the corporate policies, manual and guidelines.
  • Attract, hire develop and retain the best possible talent for the region, ensuring that there is an outstanding group of employees with a common vision, sense of purpose, shared values and objectives.
  • Compliance with all provision of the local laws applicable and if necessary to meet government agencies / officials and resolve issues of operational importance.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Management as and when necessary.
