Primary Function:

Person in this position will be responsible for leadership and management of engineering function within FMC Aerospace group. Person in this position will be responsible for employee engagement, building organizational capability and capacity by hiring, developing team members. Person in this position will be responsible for monitoring & measuring task performance & driving quality management system Person will also be responsible for strategy development, alignment, developing and deploying systems and processes aligned to strategy within Aerospace FMC Fuel Airframe and Ground Fuel Products.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for FMC Fuel Airframe and Ground Fuel Product Engineers and CoE team at EIIC to develop innovative designs that meets all requirements of performance, reliability, safety, cost and manufacturability.
  • Drive product line growth in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in product design as well as adjacent technology areas
  • Accountable to drive organic growth for Eaton by deploying the product design engineering skills and demonstrate innovation leadership to provide solutions that meets customers wants & needs/application.
  • Responsible for the implementation of strategic actions related to identified strategic focus areas.
  • Accountable to drive predictive approach and analytical problem solving methodologies to improve the NPI/NTI and Current Product Engineering effectiveness as measured by the Business KPI’s
  • Identifies, develops and grows new opportunities in products and technologies
  • Collaborate with global and local stakeholders/teams to efficiently develop and implement growth strategies and technical roadmaps for proactively influencing and providing system level solutions to enhance value propositions.
  • Responsible for developing the technical and organizational talent to drive the objectives for intellectual capability building for FMC Fuel Airframe and Ground Fuel Products by using relevant organizational processes (example talent acquisition, performance management, Organizational and Technical capability assessment framework)
  • Drive employee engagement and pertinent action plans to ensure high level of employee engagement & managerial effectiveness.
  • Drive culture of innovation with focus on Digital trends, patent, disclosures and product proposals
  • Develop six sigma initiatives within the group to improve quality, speed of execution
  • Efficiently deploy organizational process prescribed by EBS, Aerospace Engineering & AS Processes (Agile PROLaunch, Agile Starts, ACES, DFSS, DMAIC, APEX), and applicable Regulatory Standards and Processes (ITAR, EAR etc).

Qualifications

Requirement:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum 8+ Years of relevant experience with Master’s Degree or 10+ tears with Bachelor’s degree, with multinational engineering organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading/ managing technical engineering organization
  • Demonstrated experiences in leading product development (NPI) & technology developments (NTI), Product Cost Out and  Sustaining Engineering
  • Proven experience in Talent management (Hire, Develop, Retain), resource allocation and project management
  • Demonstrated experiences in preparing & presenting Multi Generation Technology & Product Plans in alignment with Product strategies
  • Demonstrated experiences with Manufacturing process, Customer interface,  Continuous improvement methodologies,
  • Excellent communications skills with high degree of aptitude, creativity, and self-direction are required.
  • Good understanding on systematic problem solving methods and tools.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as Pro-E, CATIA, Solid Works
  • Experience in PLM tools (ENOVIA)

Desired Skills:

  • In depth knowledge and hands on experiences with Aerospace Fuel Products specifically FMC Fuel Airframe and Ground Fuel Products & Systems
  • Experience working with Aerospace Fuel Products & Systems
  • Demonstrated tenacity and flexibility to reliably achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated experience on of Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMA).
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills.

Special Skills:

  • Proficiency in use of DFSS methodology & effective decision making. DFSS GB Certification preferred.
  • Analytical tools ( ex. MathCAD, MATLAB)
  • A highly entrepreneurial sense of urgency along with a passion for the execution is desirable, along with a drive to grow both personally and professionally.
  • The position requires the incumbent to be highly proficient in engineering skills, project management and documentation with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, thus enabling first time right product development and execution of NPI/NTI/Cost out/Sustaining Engineering.
  • Strong practical engineering experience to compliment his/her technical ability
