Job Description

Primary Responsibility:

  • Ensure Weight and Balance Limitations of the Aircraft are within the prescribed limits.
  • Ensure total Load is kept within the Maximum Allowable Computed Load for the flight.
  • Ensure load is Properly Distributed so that the C of G is kept within the Permissible Limits of the Curtailed C of G envelope at the time of Take‐off, so that C of G remains within the Certified Limits during the Progress of the Flight and at the Time of Landing.
  • Compute Maximum Traffic Load for the Flight based on above Inputs.
  • Prepare written instructions in the specific Loading Instruction form about the distribution of Load so as to achieve the C of G within Ideal Range as per Aircraft Type, MAC and Forward it to the Load Officer.
  • Prepare Load and Trim Sheet
  • Incorporate Last Minute Changes (LMC) on the Load & Trim Sheet, if any.
  • Cross check that ZFW C of G is well within the Curtailed Envelope, and TOW C of G is within the Optimum values as mentioned above.
  • Compute MAC %for Take‐off, and Corresponding Stabilizer Trim Setting.
  • Cross verify the accuracy of Load & Trim Sheet prior to preparation of the final loadsheet and check, flight details, wiz., flight number & date, underload available, dry operating weight & index, from fleet chart, aircraft registration, fuel details, RTOW, transit load from previous station and final passenger load as per DCS are correct.
  • Forward LDM to the Concern Station Immediately after Departure of the Flight.        
  • Perform all aircraft Weight and Balance and Documentation activities on a shift basis for arriving and departing aircrafts
  • Ensure the provision of an accurate and punctual service and that activities conform to legal and safety requirements as outlined by regulatory bodies such as IATA, DGCA, Aircraft Manufacturers, Airline Weight and Balance manuals etc.
  • Be aware of and comply with his/her safety responsibilities and accountabilities as laid down in the IndiGo SMS Manual, Chapter Safety Policy and Objectives.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Updating of manuals and CLC procedures.
  • Personnel development and management.
