Job Summary

  • The Engine Aircraft Technician performs flight line (organizational level) as well as limited second line (intermediate level) maintenance on F110-GE-129 engines. Performs inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of assigned engine systems and associated support equipment. The Engine Mechanic conducts effective OJT to qualify a cadre of assigned RAFO maintenance personnel from apprentice to skilled technician Minimum Requirements AFSC 2A6X1 Aerospace Propulsion Mechanic with Flightline Engine experience,AFSC 2A3X3B Tactical Aircraft Mechanic or equivalent and achieving 7-skill “craftsman” level performing or supervising functions such as performing or supervising functions involving installation, repair, testing, or modification of engines. Must have thorough knowledge of propulsion principles involving F-16 aircraft. Must be capable of interpreting technical publications including schematics and engineering drawings. Must be able to provide technical assistance to RAFO in regards to engine maintenance discipline.
  • Must have in depth knowledge of policies and procedures relating to aircraft safety and training. Must be proficient in communications skills necessary to conduct on the job training Experience in international environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. (Only state this if fluent English is required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Plans, organizes, and directs aerospace propulsion maintenance activities. Interprets and implements directives and publications pertaining to maintenance functions, including environmentally safe maintenance practices. Advises, performs troubleshooting, and determines repair procedures on aircraft engines. Diagnoses and repairs malfunctions using technical publications. Solves maintenance problems by studying drawings, wiring and schematic diagrams, technical instructions, and analyzing operating characteristics of aircraft engines. Inspects, certifies, and approves completed maintenance actions. Removes, installs, inspects, repairs, and modifies engines, engine modules and components. Disassembles and assembles engines adhering to prescribed procedures. Prepares engines for installation, storage, or transportation. Tests components using bench mockups and test equipment. Installs and removes engines on test stands, and operates, evaluates, and performs test stand functions on engines. Accomplishes operator maintenance on test stands. Inspects and maintains engine ground SE. Operates and performs operator inspections on related SE. Selects, uses, and cares for special tools, hand tools, and test equipment. Uses and disposes of hazardous waste and materials. Analyzes, interprets, and recommends maintenance actions based on unscheduled engine removals and engine monitoring system data. Coordinates with the RAFO F-16 Engineering Flight to analyze scheduled engine removals; recommends forecast actions to the weekly or monthly maintenance schedules. Performs OJT and supervises the work of assigned RAFO technicians. Maybe tasked to provide formal classroom instruction. Build strategic relationships between the customer and key stakeholders of the program/project. Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
