Main Objectives
Prepare the computer flight plan and associated Flight Crew Briefing documents, necessary for the safe and economic dispatch of Gulf Air flights, in accordance with applicable national and international regulations and Gulf Air Company policy.
Main Duties
Under the supervision of the Duty Shift Supervisor Flight Dispatch, the preparation of computer flight plans and Flight Crew Briefing materials for the flights assigned to him/her whilst on duty. In particular:
Monitor weather data and the status of the Air Traffic Services environment (via NOTAM traffic) across the Gulf Air network frequently and advise the Duty Shift Supervisor of operationally significant changes pertinent to their flights and providing such data as may be requested/required by Flight Crew to assist them evaluate options.
Monitor all communications circuits, (namely: HF and VHF radio, ACARs, telephone, fax, emails, AFTN, SITA, and RIO), responding as appropriate to requests and/or the changing circumstances of individual aircraft and flights.
Maintain, in accordance with Company policy, all records required by the Company in an orderly and neat fashion including the daily log of events.
Assist with the maintenance of Flight Dispatch dept. manuals.
Assist with the provision of on-the-job training for new staff when required.
Perform other duties as directed by Shift Supervisor.
Education & Training
Experience
The job holder should have a minimum of 4 years experience working in the Flight Dispatch department of an airline operating wide-body aircraft engaged in international operations.
