Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned professional to join us as Government Relations Manager to implement an effective strategy for successful engagement with the government authorities in Kuwait. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing issuance of visas, renewal/ transfer/ cancellation of residencies and managing relationships with PIFSS, the Public Authority of Manpower, various ministries including but not limited to Social Affairs & Labor, Immigration and Interior.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead the government relations team to ensure all business requirements are met on time and business continuity is maintained by way of new hire visa issuance, residencies issued, renewed, cancelled on time, and provide support with visit / business visas as and when required.
  • Develop and manage relationship with government agencies and ministries.
  • Process and maintain valid company licenses, permits, and Authorized Signatories. Permits include and not limited to Fire, Trade & Industry, Municipality, Labor, Traffic department, Information, Justice, Defense, Customs.
  • Manage registration, update and cancellation for Kuwait and GCC nationals as required, and ensure a clear record for the company at PIFSS.
  • Develop and manage relationship with Kuwait Embassy in other countries to support new hire mobilization.
  • Respond to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel and/or identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing remediation plan.
  • Prepare and manage the budget related to the function to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Act as the custodian of Government Relations Policy and Procedures and ensure regular updates are made and related parties informed based on labor law/ immigration procedure changes.
  • Coach and mentor team members to enable them to undertake additional responsibilities and grow.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, minimum 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong communication skills in Arabic & English (written and spoken).
  • Expertise in Government Relations experience.
  • Accountability, Ownership, and ability to get things done.
  • Excellent knowledge of Kuwait labor law and immigration procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRMS
