Job Description

Vacancy Information:

 We are looking for enthusiastic individual to join our Ground Services team as Ground Services Senior Instructor - Load Control based in Bahrain.

Main Objectives:

 To maintain a centre of excellence for all Ground Services Training events held across the Gulf Air network in strict accordance with the procedures documented in the company Operations Manual, Part D; Volume 4.0: The Dangerous Goods and Aviation Security Training Manual and Volume 5.0: The Ground Services Training Manual and also those documented in the Training Quality Procedures (TQP) library.

 Events shall include the management and implementation of: 

  • Induction training for Ground Staff, Flight Deck and Cabin Crew.
  • Initial and Recurrent Qualification Compliance Training
  • Managing continuing (Recurrent) regulatory training as mandated by BCAA/ANTROPS1/ICAO/IATA and in accordance with staff training     records.
  • Managing Network-wide On Job Training for Ground Handling and General Sales Agents.
  • Hosting Web-based Conferences and Training Seminars

 For audit purposes, to manage and maintain accurate electronic records of all training personally conducted.

 To develop and maintain courseware in accordance with company Operations Manuals and publications issued by regulatory authorities (IATA, ICAO, Bahrain CAA etc.) 

 

Main Duties

  • Create and design courseware required for the successful implementation of Ground Services Training events.
  • Manage assessments in accordance with company Operations Manual OMD, volumes 4 and 5.
  • Lead Training Needs Analysis sessions in order to evaluate and identify departmental training requirements for Gulf Air and external customers.
  • Travel extensively around the network for the purpose of leading overseas training events.
  • Manage OJT, provide consultation, and coaching to staff and management where and when appropriate. 
  • Consistently adhere to all Policies and Procedures set out in the company Operations Manuals and highlight the need for safety and security at every opportunity. 
  • To manage and maintain personal currency in the chosen area or areas of expertise. Example, within the scope of one or more of the following subjects:

             Aviation Security,

             Dangerous Goods,

             Ramp Safety & Human Factors,

            Weight & Balance

             Check-in, Boarding & Dispatch Procedures

             Managing Reservations & Ticketing Systems

 

Education:

  This post requires:

  • That you hold a Degree/Diploma in a field relevant to your area of expertise; Load Control, Ramp Safety, Dangerous Goods, Aviation Security, Reservations Systems.
  • The completion of an accredited Instructional Techniques Course, ‘Train the Trainer’, and conversant with Adult Learning Principles.
  • The completion of a Leadership Skills Course. 
  • That you have effective People Management / Planning & Organisational Skills, are customer focused and analytical with good judgment.  
  • That you are computer literate and up to date in appropriate Windows and Microsoft Applications.
  • That you maintain excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and communicate effectively within diverse groups. 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-years’ experience with an international airline, including 2 years of instructional experience in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Background and experience in your specialist area of Ground Services Training must be evident.
