Job Description

Changi Airport Group (CAG) is the owner and operator of Singapore Changi Airport, a leading air hub in Asia and one of the world’s most awarded airports. As airport manager, CAG performs the key functions of airport operations, air hub development, retail and commercial activities, infrastructure development and airport emergency services. CAG also manages Seletar Airport, and through its subsidiary, Changi Airports International, it takes Changi’s presence beyond Singapore’s shores through consultancy projects and investments in foreign airports. 

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be responsible for all personal data protection (PDP) matters, to lead, drive, develop and manage the Data Protection Management System for CAG and provide PDP support to its subsidiaries. The role includes:

• Advising, supporting and enabling the airport operations and commercial business groups on PDP matters
• Formulating policies, assessing risks and driving PDP initiatives
• Reviewing and drafting PDP obligations as needed
• Working closely with and supporting divisional and subsidiary DPOs to ensure implementation and support of CAG’s DPMS 
• Providing privacy support to the wider legal team on regulatory matters
• Contributing to and providing personal data protection training and awareness programs, including building knowledge management frameworks
• Representing CAG at and managing relationships with DP forums and the regulator
• Managing PDP privacy compliance and notification requirements for the Group
• Making regular briefings to Management and Board committees concerning PDP matters

Requirements

• You should have at least 3 years of PDP experience either in-house or in a law firm, and some form of relevant PDP qualifications (e.g. CIPP/A, CIPP/E, etc.), and at least 8 years of work experience in large organisations.
• You should be interested in technology, e-commerce and familiar with data privacy frameworks in the region and have demonstrated experience in managing or liaising with regulators.
• You should be energetic, systems-minded, solutions-oriented, an excellent communicator and have effective stakeholder management and strong influencing skills. This role will work at all levels of the organisation – from operational level to presenting at board meetings.
