Job Purpose

You will have the overall responsibility for the establishment, implementation, management and oversight of the aviation safety and quality management system aspects dictated by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) through creating a comprehensive and inclusive quality and safety management systems for aviation related deliverables across both Dubai International and Al Maktoum (Dubai World Central) International Airports and relevant Stakeholders.

You will Determine the level of aviation risks of both aerodromes and guide or advise all risk owners on the necessary mitigations to operate the aerodrome safely. Oversee the department’s performance, control its resources and activities, within Dubai Airports. Accountable to the GCAA for the compliance of DXB and DWC airports with their State Safety Programme among other references including CAR PART 10.

You will apply a management strategy that ensures alignment with business goals and directions.

You will raise the awareness of airport employees on the most critical aspects of Aviation Safety and Quality Management within aerodromes.

Qualifications and Education

You must have a minimum, Degree level in a discipline related to aviation engineering

or a related science field, MEng or MSc is an added advantage

Experience

•  10-15 years of experience in relevant roles in the aviation (or
• infrastructure) sector while handling safety and quality
• complex development programmes; at least 10 years are
• spent in managing large aviation (or infrastructure)
• safety/quality programmes in live operational environments
• involving interface between projects and operations.
• Relevant experience in the aviation sector preferred,
• especially in an Operational discipline

Knowledge

• Knowledge of reporting of significant capital investment programmes
• Knowledge of change management concepts and trends
• Understanding of the aviation industry
• Knowledge of airport operations
• Understanding of issues related to working in a regulated industry
• Understanding of the complexity and challenges of driving/building a project delivery culture.
