Job Description

Vestas Power Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future.

As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the Product Solutions & Integration is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmap in response to market roadmap requirements, translate product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full Value Chain Integration.

Loads and Control (LaC), as part of Product Solutions & Integration, is responsible for designing and optimizing the product for load and control strategy together with cross product design work. The department consists of highly skilled, international, well qualified engineers who are taking accountability for all aspects of the LaC solution delivered to the Products which are placed across 3 design locations: Portugal, Denmark and India.

LaC Simulation Tools department is responsible for strategizing, developing, releasing and supporting users of LaC Tools and Simulation domain. In LaC, we have a sophisticated toolchain software that is closely knit with the load and controls process and activities. LaC Simulation Tools plays a vital role in overall product development and other value chain activities as LaC heavily relies on theses to take critical business and product design decisions. LaC Simulation Tools teams owns the responsibility of the complete product life cycle of LaC software toolchain.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, inspire and develop your team
  • Develop methods and processes to deliver software solutions to LaC
  • Delivering high quality software solution on agreed time and budget, ensuring that the project execution is always compliant with quality procedures
  • Conducting time planning, coordination, and resource allocation
  • Contribute to on-going development of skills, competencies and process improvements
  • Understanding the business needs, prioritization and negotiation with stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • MSc. computer science/ mechanical/ aeronautics/ electrical engineering or an equivalent technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in working in software/Tools development for engineering business in leadership roles
  • proven achievement in people leadership within software development domain
  • In-depth understanding and experience in Agile software development framework and proven experience in applying Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • SAFe certified (Leading SAFe) would be an added benefit

  • Understanding of software design and development processes with emphasis on continuous improvement and integration in a test-driven environment
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Staying updated and curious about the latest trends in software development

Additional Information
Your primary workplace will be preferably at Vestas Design Centre in Chennai, although Aarhus, Denmark or Porto, Portugal could be considered.
