Job overview and responsibilities

United Airlines is set to strategically grow its fleet size and route network in the near future – there will be new aircraft and new destinations added over the next few years, considerably expanding the airline’s global footprint.

The United Next team is tasked to identify, manage and execute critical initiatives across divisions. The goal of the team is to empower stakeholders across operating teams with timely and relevant data driven insights to help meet the challenges of scaling the airline, while continuing to maintain dependability and customer focus. This will be a dynamic role which will allow engagement with multiple senior leaders.

• Provide analytical and program management support for all key United Next divisions, with focus on our long-term strategic plans for operational readiness, resource planning, revenue/cost management, etc.
• Design solutions to various business problems across United Next operational teams using data analysis, optimization tools, statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
• Create meaningful metrics to track United Next progress, that will inform organizational decisions
• Become the subject matter expert (SME) for all data and reporting needs for United Next initiatives
• Lead status meetings and manage frequent communication to business stakeholders, and senior leadership, as required

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Required 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or quantitative fields such as Mathematics or Statistics
• 5+ years of experience in analytics required
• At least 1 year of experience in leading analytics projects required
• Expertise in database querying tools, writing complex queries SQL
• Strong knowledge of modern scripting languages (Python/ R)
• Strong knowledge of reporting tools such as Spotfire or Tableau
• Expert knowledge of multivariate statistical analysis and machine learning
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers and leaders, especially expressing complex quantitative analysis clearly and precisely
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), or in Analytics, or quantitative fields such as Econometrics, Statistics
• Ability to design and track meaningful operational metrics preferred
