Job Description

To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future. Part of the multi-disciplinary Nacelle Structure & Internals Sub module has total of 18 Skilled Structural/Mechanical engineers responsible as Technical leads, Functionals leads and Design Engineers with FEA,CAD and ECM competences.

Responsibilities

  • FEA assessment and working on local and global FEA modelling for Nacelle Structure & internals components
  • Work along with Project team to understand the scope define the load requirements and safety factors for Nacelle Structure & Internals components
  • Writing the DVRE / DVPL reports for our components Design specifications/requirements
  • Design for functionality, including functional interfaces, performance & reliability including lifetime estimates of the design
  • Design verification (incl. FEA), validation and reports
  • Design risk associated to the design, safety and cost optimization
  • Working closely Product certification (DNV and Other certification )
  • Generate solutions for design issues

Qualifications

  • Master's / Bachelor's in Mechanical / Structural / Aerospace/ similar fields
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in structural analysis
  • Adept knowledge in structural engineering and components
  • Adept knowledge in turbine loads ( Fatigue and Extreme loads )
  • Hands on experience in Ansys and workbench, APDL
  • Tools: Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Parametric Design Language (APDL) & Ansys Spaceclaim
  • Delivery of projects design work through gates, matching specifications for function, cost, quality, and time
  • Robust, reliable, efficient design solution with highest performance at the lowest cost across the value chain

Competencies

  • Ansys work bench and Global modelling experience with Pre and post calculation
  • Hands on experience Friction join and bolt verification tools and hand calculation
  • Generate Verification report for product certification
  • FEA scripting & Topology optimization
  • Accountability, with focus on the deliveries (time, cost, scope, quality)
  • Structural/Mechanical engineering and design
  • Knowledge of system engineering tools like DFMEA, HSE assessments documentation
