Job Description

Maintenance Management

  • Administers and control their respective maintenance departments.
  • Scheduling aircraft maintenance including production to ensure dispatch reliability.
  • Tracking inspections and coordinating work schedules with Maintenance
  • Supervisors, to ensure timely completion and compliance of their work assignments.
  • Training and assisting subordinates, at the direction of the Director of Maintenance
  • Ascertaining that all necessary maintenance entries on maintenance forms and Work Orders used by FLYNAS are properly executed by his personnel.
  • Maintaining the premises of the Repair Station in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
  • Initiating purchase requisitions for stocks as required.
  • Assuring that personnel in the maintenance department do quality work.
  • Indoctrinating maintenance personnel in observing safety precautions relevant to the functions for which they may be utilized.
  • Informing personnel to the proper use of and the location of firefighting equipment and checking the equipment periodically for serviceability and adequacy.
  • Making available the required technical data on all aircraft, engines, and appliances for the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations, and ensuring that the data used are current to the latest revision.
  • Ensuring the proper handling of all parts, tools, equipment, and materials used.
  • Ensure that repetitive defects are kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Ensure that deferred defects are regularly monitored until closure.
  • Ensure that all staffs are adequately trained to perform their jobs safely and correctly.
  • Depending on workloads, may be required to exercise his certifying privileges as a Certificated Engineer or A & P Mechanic or Avionics Technician.
  • Provide technical expertise to assist in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis to ensure dispatch reliability on operational aircraft.
  • Ensuring that all work is done in accordance with GMM.

Policies and Procedures

  • Responsible for implementing the policies and procedures for the timely delivery of safe, airworthy aircraft that meet legal requirements of aviation Authority standards for safety and maintenance.
  • Management in the proper work procedures and practices to be followed.
  • Maintaining all line maintenance equipment and tools in a serviceable working condition.
  • Practice safe working methods to ensure the safety of all the FLYNAS personnel.
  • Responsible for the working methods of all the maintenance staff to ensure that they maintain correct working ethics including housekeeping, record control and adherence to paperwork.
  • Ensure that at all times the aircraft and its systems are operated in strict compliance with the aircraft manuals and company procedures and policies.
  • Ensure that positioning and parking of aircraft are in compliance with aircraft manuals and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that FOD walks are carried out around the aircraft to ensure safe operation in the ramp.
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks are complied with in accordance to aviation regulations, and certified by personnel as per authorizations granted.
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks issued are accomplished efficiently and professionally in accordance with aircraft manuals, aviation regulations and FLYNAS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the aircraft operates within compliance of its maintenance program.
  • Ensure that aircraft cleaning standards are maintained at all times. This includes both internal and external appearance.
  • Ensure that the shift turnover at all levels is maintained and in compliance with company policy.
  • Ensure that all maintenance staff uses the correct procedures for ordering spares and returning unserviceable items to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all facilities and equipment are serviceable, operational and properly maintained.
  • Reporting and document Control
  • Monitoring manpower schedules to ensure adequate personnel are available to perform work assigned.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance Management.
  • May delegate his duties in his absence to a qualified Supervisor as necessary. However, such delegation does not relieve him of his overall responsibilities.

BUSINESS METRICS

Job Requirements

  • 7 - 10 years’ experience in Line or Base Maintenance in an Airline or MRO.
  • Experience in a Supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of aircraft operated by flynas.
  • Knowledge on Aviation regulations, company policies and standards.
  • Knowledgeable with the use of aircraft manuals and MEL.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation technical courses or graduate of other engineering courses.
  • Holder of A & P or Airman License, and have held these ratings for at least 7 years.
  • Must have a Level 3 training on flynas operated aircraft.
  • GACA A & P License or FAA License or EASA or GACA recognized Airman Certificate.
