Are you inspired by the opportunity to lead and enhance online sales performance within a world-renowned airline?  We’re looking for a data-savvy, experienced digital / online sales professional with expertise in leading others, excellent interpersonal skills and the passion and drive to deliver exceptional results, to join our Global Digital Sales team, as we seek to further grow and develop our online sales performance at an exciting and challenging time in our industry.     

As Digital Sales Manager, your role will be to generate revenue from digital sales and build robust and sustainable digital growth for assigned region by leading and shaping the region’s online strategy, planning and executing detailed digital sales plans and leading in the evaluation of new opportunities to achieve defined KPIs for assigned region/markets. Work in the fast-paced environment of e-commerce, consistently staying on top of trends and developments in new technology to identify key opportunities to drive additional sales and ensure our online booking experience meets commercial need and guest expectation.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the digital sales team for the Central region, reporting to the Regional General Manager and with direct report responsibility for Digital Sales Officers, to develop robust and sustainable digital sales growth plans & calendarized action plan for assigned markets. Propose, evaluate and manage activities to drive flight and ancillary revenue generation through etihad.com (ey.com) sites.
  • Identify new opportunities to grow the direct sales channel including, but not limited to, tactical sales campaigns, pricing initiatives, partner and/or closed user group offers as well as the evaluation of new technology solutions including new payment options to accelerate online sales growth. Initiate, manage and adapt activity plans in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, using strong interpersonal skills to manage all elements of the activity including relationships with internal/external parties as required.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and lead the implementation of new payment options/solutions from business case through to go-live to increase sales from assigned/evolving markets
  • Regularly monitor sales campaign performance, sales KPIs and dashboards (based on revenues and targets) to identify areas of improvement, new initiatives and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure etihad.com websites for assigned region/markets (local language and English language) are refreshed with appropriate offer, policy and pricing content at all times.
  • Work with HQ Marketing teams to ensure etihad.com sales activity is supported appropriately (e.g., onsite content, SEO/SEM, social media marketing, email & affiliate marketing, digital display, other media)
  • Co-ordinate with the Digital Transformation teams to provide local insights for assigned markets/region to ensure ongoing changes, new developments and improvements to Etihad website, mobile and app meet local market requirements and legal/consumer best practice.
  • Understand online travel agent business models and key drivers to success within this sales channel. Liaise with local market teams/OTA leads to ensure both distribution channels are working in complement to achieve sales targets.
  • Keep up to date with latest e-commerce industry trends, online payment options and other digital developments, working as a specialist to provide input and advice to Regional Sales Manager and other internal teams on legal implications/commercial opportunities prompted by these changes.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within relevant field (Airline/Aviation Digital Sales, Digital agency, OTA, e-commerce B2C). Ideally with airline industry background, if not at least with travel industry.
  • Experience in evaluating, leading and implementing new payment solutions
  • Strong data & analytical skills, with proven working experience using digital analysis tools (Adobe/Google Analytics).
  • Proven experience in interacting with multiple stakeholders within a multinational enterprise, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to support effective working relationships at all levels
  • Must be a self -starter who can demonstrate skills/ability to operate in a challenging environment and with multi-cultural teams.
  • Direct experience working with MEAP and/or Indian Subcontinent markets (awareness of commercial norms, online purchasing behaviour, online booking trends) is preferred/desirable.
