Job holder ensures implementation and continuous improvement of departmental safety strategy and strategic objectives that supports Emirates Airport Services (EKAS) short-term and long-term safety goals. The Manager drives Safety Management System and compliance to safety standards and stakeholder requirements. The role supports business leaders to devise and implement safety plans that reduces risk at all Airport Services operational area touch-points at Hub and Outstations.
Job Outline:
- Develop and maintain a Managament System for the extensive Airport Operation at the Hub (including Transport Services) and Outstations. Develop, implement and maintain an effective document and record management system, to monitor and update regulatory and awareness policies as per certification requirements. Responsible for working alongside Group Safety, Group Learning & Talent, and the respective business units to ensure all regulatory and company requirements are in place and being adhered to.
- In liaison with Group Safety, maintain the Safety Management System requirements in order to support internal and external operations managed by Airport Services (including Transport). Implement and maintain an effective document and record management system as per requirements, including training records and compliance (internal and external). Manage and maintain the reporting and investigation procedures for workplace incidents and accidents resulting in potential or actual loss or damage, , to the Group or to third party assets (personnel, equipment, aircraft, facilities and systems). Conduct detailed investigations on all incidents including major and above in order to identify causation factors, address immediate concerns, propose recommendations and remdial action to avoid further recurrence.
- Establishing a service excellence framework, develop an implementation plan for systematic deployment of actions in liaison with Airport Services units. Analyze the scope, trends and targets of business results and link them with approaches in order to always benchmark with industry best-in class standards. Develop, monitor, and disseminate company safety goal, quality and safety instructions, and/or benchmarks to company employees and subcontractors. Continually review key departmental safety and quality performance indicators internally with business unit line managers and senior management. Chair the various internal Safety Action Groups (SAG) and attend other relevant events such that safety performance is reviewed, action plans have been implemented, and best practices are shared and incorporated in the corporate framework.
